I am a boxing fan. I expose those like you that have no reculection of fighters and styles and progression. You say that b/c it sounds good, not knowing that ODH was very beatable in his prime and was one dimensional and a one handed fighter.

Keep selling this one, I'm not buying it. Mayorga was perfect for Oscar. His defense is non-existent when he's hurt, he can't fight moving backwards, and he talked just enough sh*t to actually get under Oscar's semi-retired skin.

If you actually saw the fight last night, you'd know that although Mayorga put in a gutty performance, he won because Vargas's legs are gone. Fernando gave up two rounds on knockdowns where he was essentially off-balance (although he was legitimately getting drilled along the ropes in the first round.) If you just let Mayorga tee off, you can make him look like a top 20 fighter. Oscar was simply too talented to let that happen, and obviousy had way more in the tank than Fernando did last night.

Mayorga beating Vargas does nothing for Floyd's legacy. PBF still outworked an over the hill legend for a very classy, yet very predictable W.

Floyd over Oscar is impressive, but how does this silly fight that took place last night have anything to do with it. You guys post a lot of head scratchers on this website.

You don't know boxing well enough to make this statement. Oscar has always struggled with speedy fighters with good defense. He was given a gift against Sweet Pea and lost twice to Mosley. Prime or not Oscar would have struggled with PBF and would have lost.:deal

Dumb ass noob!! Pimp C is hard core Floyd fan:yep

Mayo was shot before DLH, is STILL SHOT and barely pulled it out late over an even SHOTTER vargas.

DLH couldnt beat SS Prime and wouldnt likely beat PBF Prime either but it would have been razor close.

Who the **** needs to argue this reasoning anyway? Htton, Cotto, and Williams mean more right now than either SSM, DLH, or Mayorga:good

Winning a narrow decision? Is that what he did to Oscar? That's really not that impressive.

It should have been a UD but typical of a GBP event he got a SD. Oscar won no more than four rounds at best. Learn how to score a fight.:hi:

scoring a fight is subjective and if you know **** about boxing you should know that.

i give PBF full credit for boxing clever and winning a VERY close decision, but dont make out like it was some kinda smack down, pbf got controll of that fight after oscar gased out , before that he was content to try to not get hurt, had oscar more gas he would have inched that fight in a messy way.

pbf, full credit for a close win over a very good fighter.

but his fans need to stop mis-reprisenting what kind of win it was.

    /Theo.

i still dont get i think pbf outclassed odh, the fight was not eve as close as you make it, im sure the judges said it was close but it was 8 rds to 4 all day long.but they made it has close as they could make it because it was oscar fighting and now the world or half of thinks the fight was close, hmm go figure :huh

the only struggle was pbf weighing 148 and odh weighing over 160 in there fight.welter weight vs middle w:good eight

Since when is 34 years old...old??? They don't wanna give Floyd credit but if he would have got knocked out it would have been a great victory for Oscar Delahoya and it would have sky rocketed him into the conversation as one of the greatest of all time....bull****!!!

That fight was no where near as close as the judges had it. Floyd won that fight unamiously Oscar landed a few good jabs but the rest where slaps and looks of desperation.

What people really should be asking is how could Floyd Mayweather toy around with someone as great as Oscar Delahoya because that's what he did.

Bernard is in his 40's and takes just as much time off as Delahoya you don't hear nobody making excuses for him.

It's always all good when the people you hate lose and to me that **** is sad

It was a good win for Floyd but it was a very narrow margin of victory over a past prime (but not shot) Oscar.

Floyd still needs to fight Cotto and maybe Margarito to cement his due of greatness.
