Johnson not used to that raw power but if he saw it coming may be able to avoid a lot, but that Swedish rhythm could upset his applecart

I don't really know enough about either of these men to draw an accurate conclusion, but I think most can agree, Johnson was one hell of a proven fighter. He could box for 45 rounds, tie up his man on the inside and deliver a pretty good punch himself. Again, I'm probably not the right guy to posting on this thread, but I think I'll vote for Johnson.

Jack Johnson ios going to have an easy time with any fighter who relies on a single punch to get the job done.

    Johansen is getting toyed with.

That's very true, although I think its worth mentioning that Floyd Patterson was a pretty good technician, yet Ingo was able to tag him multiple times in all of their fights. Still, my inclination is to pick Jack Johnson.. He was both crafty and tough on a whole different level than most men we can think of.

Any fighter as predictable and slow in terms of workrate as johansson is going to have a horrible, horrible night with jack johnson. Stoppage, whenever Jack wants to end it.

My guess is this would be a very boring fight with Johnson in his typical laid-back defensive mode, and Johansson using his legs to stay away. Much might depend on the referee. A modern ref who breaks them quick would be to Ingo's advantage.

Johnson is miles more proven, fighting all the best of his time. He might have chin issues, but nothing like Ingo's. On the other hand, his defensive style is probably all wrong for Ingo. I think the best way to fight Ingo was to press him. would Johnson alter his style to become aggressive?

I see a dull, dull fight, with Johnson probably letting Johansson hang around for round after round, and therefore running the risk of being caught with that big right like Machen and Patterson.

I have to go with Johnson, but Johansson really would be a live underdog in this one, unlike a fight with someone like Dempsey in which I don't see Ingo having much of a chance because of Dempsey's aggressive style.

This is how I see it. However if the rules of the fight penalized excessive clinching and did not allow hitting and holding, Ingo's chances of scoring the upset knockout would almost equal Johnson's chances of winning the decision.

I have seen Ingo on the way up. I think he moved a little better pre-Patterson.

Ingo had a very, very short peak but during it was he worse than Marvin hart? Johnson however, was a proven, full time pro and an ATG.

interestingly at range what both ingo and jack had in common was wanting the other guy to make the first move, only Johnson was more experienced at it. Johnson never put two punches together until the other guy was helpless and ingo would only strike at just the right moment.

Jack used his strength inside holding biceps only letting go with his 4oz gloves to land uppercuts between clutching. Ingo was no slouch inside either and physically just as strong.

It’s an awful fight. Two guys both waiting, looking at each other. If it ever got going as sharp as peak ingo was Johnson just has more weapons.
