I sparred a few as a young lad 13-15, only person you would know though is Junior Witter, he came to our gym once and gave us young lads a little spar to teach us some discipline, thats was before he won a world title mind, think he was european champ at the time.
Probably the only pro I sparred with that anyone here would have heard of was Ernie Chavez, it was a couple years before he fought Meldrick Taylor when he was still undefeated. It was only a few rounds of sparring and I was about 20 - 30 pounds heavier than he was. I was still a teenager at the time. What did I take from it? Body, guard the body when you're fighting a smaller Mexican fighter type. They love to smash the body.
Mostly Pro-MMA fighters in MMA and boxing rules. I fought a few pros in boxing, but they were former pro-boxers that turned to MMA. One guy came from RJJ's gym in Pensacola. I've pretty much have held my own and gotten the better of many of them. I actually come from a wrestling background, but Boxing is my passion, so I wouldn't really want to loose to any of the MMA fighters. One of the former boxers did try knocking my block off and I definitely wasn't ready for that encounter. Was expecting a light spar since I was just getting back into working out. He was much bigger than me though and surprisingly I did the best of anyone that day cause everyone else pretty much got hounded and knocked down by this guy.
Ok, then what gym did you spar with Tyson. Surely you must have other pics with some of the guys from the same gym. Also, where are you from? Only someone connected with the New York fight scene would get the opportunity to fight with an up-and-comer like Tyson.
His story of loosing couple of teeths and getting neck pain, that still haunts him in 2010, all from one 2 round sparring session, sounded bull**** as well.
Yeah, plus they wouldn't let a 13 year old spar with a 20 something year old guy, even if Tyson did look like a man at that age... That picture does look pretty real though...:huh.
Yeah All the time. but it kinda' sucks here on the WestCoast because it's all Mexicans and Philipinos. Being 200lbs and Over 6 Feet, it's hard for me the find people to spar with so I spar with all 119lbs -154lbs fighters. Back when I was living in Philly, NY, Atlanta and PR...there were plenty of 175lbs-plus fighters to spar with. There are a couple of fighters at my gym (one a Cruiserweight and other a Lightheavy) but they come at night, and my work schedule prevents me from training in the evening.
Yep. I dont know much about how to spot Photoshop, but even if it is real the photo doesnt exactly prove his story.
