Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere guys and girls. Looking at getting into the sport (more for fitness wise and a bit of fun before I get too old) and was wondering what sort of beginner gear you would all recommend. A friend of mine is knocking me up (hes a boilermaker) a stand with a speedball, heavy bag, and a double ended bag??? (ceiling to floor style) so basically ill be doing circuits. Ive got no idea what to use (wraps for the speedball and double ended bag? Bag gloves, speedball gloves, footwear, some sort of antislip mat and footwear is what im particularly looking for at the moment, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Trent
You can get boxing shoes pretty cheap, they have good grip and you won't slide with them. Get some decent length handwraps, some 14/16 oz gloves for the bag and some smaller mitts for the doule end bag. And get a towel because you will sweat alot doing boxing circuit
Thanks mate, I appreciate it, as far as the handwraps go, is there something (I guess sort of like a glove) that I dont have to wrap and unwrap every time?
http://store.titleboxing.com/glove-wraps.html Be careful with your wrists though. Those things will protect your knucles but don't have any support for your wrists or the bones in your hands.
Yea it's better to use wraps as they keep your wrists supported. Wrapping hands took me about 10 minutes at a time but now takes me about a minute
