Segura is like a mini-Margarito. I actually love watching the Margarito style.

Well, Pavlik and Tab aren't old but how often do fighters really reinvent themselves at 28? Zab needs to become a totally different animal in the mental game and Pavlik needs to seriously improve his skills, get a new trainer etc. They both seem pretty set in their ways, with their teams.

Hmmm, Steward didn't think so. I have Lewis the slight favorite also, but Lewis got iced by Rahman and McCall, struggled with Mercer and Mavrovic, Wlad could have likely KO'ed all four. I am a Lewis fan, but he looks invincible now that his career is over. In 10 - 15 years, Wlad will be no longer defined by his few losses but by his dominance.

Who ever said Miguel Cotto? LOL you got to be kidding. 3 weight world champion who has been in with and aint afraid to mix it the very best out there? Only 2 losses, 1 coming with suspicions, the other to the p4p no.1? Yeah major bust there...

Lewis did hand out a fair amount of punishment on Mavrovic, I doubt Wlad could take similar.

First name that popped into my head was David Reid.

I think "total bust" is overly harsh but I expected him to be the kind of p4p star that Shane, Oscar, Tito and RJJ were in the early 2000s.

Obviously he had some specific health issues which limited and shortened his career. But in terms of "i expected greatness and he never got there" which I think is more of the spirit of the question, he is my guy.

I really thought once Rafael Marquez moved up in weight his archrival Silence Mabuza would reign supreme at bantamweight. :verysad

There was just too much young talent around the corner. It wasn't even that he was short on talent himself per se - Silence got unlucky. If Rafa had moved up just a couple years earlier he would most likely have had a quality world title run.

    Wlad's defense = Mavrovic's defense?
