The "Ring Title" should count as an "official title."

Yep, they completely messed it up as soon as they re-introduced their belt. Zero credibility.

No I don't think we need yet another title out there. The IBO was brought in to be the saviour back in the 80s (Remember Holmes vacated his titles to go for an IBO), but all it did was give us more "champions".

While the Ring does have some legitamacy, I don't like the idea of journalists calling the shots. Going back over half a century ago, newspapers used to have major influence on recording who won fights and I don't think the sport needs to revert to that again.

Think about it, what if Time magazine ranked tennis players, the NY post picked who would play in the soccer (or football) world cup it wouldn't add any credibility to the sport whatsover. Even though the alphabet sanctioning bodies are a joke, they still have that tiny bit of extra credibility a magazine just wouldn't be able to gain.

He certainly should have been the champ, but he did go up a weight division and hasn't fought at Super Middleweight since January 2009. Therefore even if Erdei had been correctly been champion the Pascal vs Dawson fight would have created a new lineage.

Because the number 1 and number 2 guy in a division rarely fight.

    Heavyweight Champion - W Klitschko
    Cruiserweight - Cunningham vs Huck
    Light Heavyweight Champion - Pascal
Super Middleweight - Bute vs Ward
    Middleweight Champion - Martinez
Junior Middleweight - Cintron vs Angulo
    Welterweight - Mayweather vs Pacquiao
Junior Welterweight - Bradley vs Khan
    Lightweight Champion - Marquez
Junior Lightweight - Fana vs Burns
    Featherweight - John vs Lopez
Junior Featherweight - Nishioka vs Lee
    Bantamweight - Montiel vs Moreno
Junior Bantamweight - Darchinyan vs Cazares
    Flyweight Champion - Wonjongkam
    Junior Flyweight Champion - Segura
    Straweight - Joyi vs Sithsamerchai

If you get those fights then we'll have a full list of champs

In 1976 The Ring magazine fabricated records of selected boxers, to elevate them, thereby securing them lucrative fights on the American ABC television network, as part of the United States Championship Tournament.

yea they sure know what they're doing.
