I think Frazier beats all of Marciano's opponents with less trouble and i think that Marciano loses to Ali easily and to Foreman in a worse fashion.

But the facts are Marciano did beat Louis, Walcott and Charles. And Frazier lost badly to Foreman. Though Frazier being no less of an equal to Ali across their 3 fights makes him undoubtedly proven in elite greatness also. Marciano's elite scalps were not prime versions like Fraziers which should also be considered.

I see them as very close, with Marciano being slightly ahead in a P4P sense and Frazier being slightly ahead in a H2H sense.

A fight between the two is my favourite fantasy matchup, i see it being the most brutal fight ever and despite both of their elite level stamina, they would wear each other out and someone is getting stopped before the 10th. I favour Frazier either way.

For whatever it's worth, Joe has had the class to rate Rocky over himself. I do think Smoke would have beaten him, but this is an instance where he would have to give ground in a winning effort, as he did with Chuvalo and Stander, with quick sidesteps and angles. (Even jailhouse bodybuilder Jumbo Cummings failed to dominate an old and rusty Smoke with his physical strength. Foreman was a genetic freak who also had the reach to neutralize Joe at arm's length.)

Rocky admitted at the outset of his review of Charles I that he preferred to have some punching room, and didn't like Ezzard smothering his shots. Tommy Gibbons applied some of the same survival strategy with Dempsey. Unlike Rocky and Jack though, Joe was always very comfortable at closest range, and probably the best infighter among the heavyweight champions, just shading Burns and Bowe. Even a peak Jerry Quarry was only able to compete with him on the inside for a couple of rounds in 1969 before Joe took over. (This was one of the greatest infighting showdowns in heavyweight history, if not the absolute greatest.)

I would make an argument that he is better for in other aspects but rocky having a better right im sure of

frazier was a great fighter. I have always said had he retired in 1972 you could say he cleaned out a division. I think he lost something after TFOTC and what hapened after that taints his legacy in a big way.

marciano had two hands a beter chin and countered beter. frazier was a rythem fighter he fought out of instict. marciano was a rythyem breaker and could focus a little more in the eye of the storm.

  14. i agree reznick

  15. in the title i wrote "he was better in everything" i wanted say in almost everything.
Of course rocky was harder puncher with the right hand.
But in my opinion frazier had better left
