I just saw him on Fox sports Net. Not even sure if this fight was live or delayed. He just KO'd Herlbert Goodman in the 1st round. what do you guys think of him? Also, I'm not that familiar with Bellator. Are they a growing company?
Lombard is a really good fighter that really needs a step up in competition. I would love to see him thrown into the UFC middleweight mix.
:deal He looks good and has some skills but his competition has been pretty poor. I mean his best win is probably over Kalib Starnes. Bellator would do well to get some good fighters in or they might lose him. The fight with Shlemenko is a good start. I'd would like to see him in Strikeforce or the UFC. He would be an excellent addition to Strikeforce's proposed MW tourny.
Bellator is great, I like their set up. They hold 8 man tournaments over a "season" and the winner of the tournament faces the champ at that weightclass.
Well, now he has passed the Shlemenko test. I wouldn't say he did so with flying colors, it was a UD, but that Russian is really really tough.
He's really good. After seeing him struggle a bit with Shlemenko, I'm no longer sure he's the best middleweight in MMA - but he's up there.
He needs to work on his stamina after 3 rounds. But I was certainly impressed that he walked through Shlemenko's kicks and punches.
I used to like Bellator myself, at least until they started picking their winners before the matches. I'm talking about the new women's champ, Zoila Frausto. She is terrible. :barf She got her ass kicked first by Aguilar to get to the finals, & then in the finals she got outworked & beaten up by a much smaller Fuji. They should be embarassed by those gift decisions................
He's a beast but his shocking lack of stamina was exposed vs Shlemenko He spent the second half of that fight basically lying on top of Shlemenko doing NOTHING. A neutral referee would have stood them apart much sooner than the corrupt bald **** did in that fight, and if he had, Lombard could well have lost and the hype wagon derailed Apart from that fight though he's been pretty devastating One other thing though - as a person he's a complete piece of ****, happy to continue to rain down haymakers on unconscious opponents They need to feed him to the treestump, who would take not only his soul, but his knee
Like I say when people accuse the UFC of this; the judges are state appointed by the athletic commision; unlike in Japan where they work for the company. It was a terrible decision, but thats all it was.
The guy is beast thats for sure. Lombard is a big Middleweight, very fast and explosive, powerful as hell and not just on his feet his GNP is pretty damn vicious as well. Despite being so aggressive his striking technique isnt bad. Without a doubt he is one of the strongest, most powerful Middleweights ive ever seen. Olympian in Judo also is very impressive you see it from time to time in some of his fights. I havent seen his last fight yet but apparently his stamina is pretty bad but the way he fights you could see that miles away. I cant rank him very highly until he actually fights someone. The win streak is nice but everyone he is fighting besides a rare exception. Time to fight in Strikeforce or the UFC and start fighting guys with a pulse who can punch back and we really will see how badass he is.
well considering hes been koing guys in a round, going 5 rounds would of done him the world of good, time to bring on the next challenge, wonder who they got lined up
The level of corruption that goes on in both boxing and MMA officiating is off the chart. To say it was simply a terrible decision is extremely niave
i would question his cardio, but he is a beast when it comes to standup. i hope they can figure out a deal with strikefoce so they can co promote an event. then stick him in with some higher level fighters.
