What about 'reverse-shot'? Hopkins, after losing to Calzaghe, went from being old and shot to schooling Pavlik...well according to Calzaghe haters he was :yep

Vargas and Taylor have some similarities IMO. Both were highly touted amateur fighters who were relatively green, undefeated champs and took on hard-hitting, long-time undefeated champions in unification bouts (Trinidad, Chavez). Both of them lost by 12th round stoppages. They both had some solid performances afterwards, Taylor having the 2nd best win of his career in Davis and Vargas giving DLH a tough fight. But the beatings they took in the ring (and probably the gym) caught up with them.

They had more success afterwards than Lacy, but then again, they were considerably better fighters to begin with.

True about Hopkins.But Hopkins lost twice to Jermaine Taylor years before he ever fought Calzaghe.

 

I would say Mijares but obviously not as bad as Lacy...
