I've seen the video where Arum himself says that they had sold 27K seats so far. It's a fighthype interview. He says that they were selling tickets faster than they were for the Clottey fight, so they are expected to break the numbers for the Clottey fight.

That video is about a week old.

Hopefully they can reach 40k by fight time..... It would be nice if they had a full house but doesnt seem like it will happen. Regardless, Im sure the Margarito fight is already more succesful because I believe they were selling these tickets at a higher price then the other one.

The problem is not that they have only sold 20k which is a great number for a boxing event, it is that the stadium s so big that if it is half empty it will come across as a flop.

Which other US based boxer can fill a 40k stadium?

How many tickets have they sold so far for pac vs marg? It would be silly if they didn't exceed it. Clottey had literally no fans. It was sad to see him come to the ring, he was so unknown that there was no reaction at all for him.

I don't see how Pacquiao-Clottey could out-sell Pacquiao-Margarito. I mean, there are a lot of Mexicans in Texas, and besides, AM is a much bigger name than Clottey. All this talk about the fight being boycotted is complete nonsense. I don't understand why you'd boycott this fight, and what exactly does that mean, anyway?

Do you refuse to watch it live?

Do you refuse to watch the replays, ever?

Do you refuse to read articles on the fight?

    Ain't nobody boycotting ****.

I am boycotting, so I'm not going to buy the fight or watch it live. Will download it a few days after it happens.

Believe it or not, I actually watched the Cotto and Clottey fights live. The latter one was a waste of time, but it was play for free in a restaurant.

    Wow that's a shame.

Watching a fight there is pretty much watching a closed circuit feed. You'll focus on the HUGE (and beautiful) 60 yard screen so there's no reason to NOT sell out the nosebleeds
