right now, ward wins. ward hasn't shown the vulnerability that bute has. we have seen bute worn down. that isn't his m.o but ward is definitely capable of doing it with impressive skill. he did it against kessler, which was magnificent whichever way you slice it because kessler was a tourny fave and proven champ, and he did it against green.

Ward by UD. Bute will give him one hell of a fight though. I find this fight to be dead even. Bute can end it at any moment with the right punch but Ward is just too fundamentally skilled as a boxer for Bute to hit him flush with a ko shot.

Ward's smothering style is all wrong for Bute's short uppercuts. He will get timed and possibly stopped.

Bute needs to diversify his arsenal. If he keeps looking for the uppercut to the body, as he did against Brinkley, he will be too predictable. Yeah yeah I know, it was Brinkley ... Bute will adapt to higher level of competition ... Larouche always have good strategy blah blah.

Still I believe Bute by KO if he doesn't stagnate.

    Lucian Bute, on points.

Ward's getting in close and roughing him up, would take some vicious body shots.

I like the way you answer to yourself!

Bute did not that against Miranda, so I'm not too afraid about that. His arsenal is pretty comptlete, even if he didn't use it against Brinkley. Oh no! I'm doing the the blah blah thing. ;)

Kessler was not the shadow of himself when he fought Ward. Green means nothing. I mean, nothing, especially the way he fought.

This is the dream fight at 168.

If 2011 brings us this, Pascal-Cloud (the dream fight at 175), Gamboa-Lopez (the dream fight at 126), and Huck-Lebedev (the dream fight at 200...if it doesn't happen in December) then it won't matter what happens in the "glamor divisions" of 147 and Unlimited...ie if neither of the Klitschkos faces a really opponent (or each other), and Pacquiao-Mayweather continues to not happen...

2011 will be amazing if even half of those dream fights come together! The great thing is all of them seem likely. :bbb Heavyweight and welterweight be damned.

Depends where it is. If its on neutral ground then Bute wins every time

Bute wins this. He can KO Ward with a good body shot. A left Uppercut to the body.
