Here is Monte Cox new video of Sam Langford, breaking him down a little and displaying his skills. It is under 4 minutes. It contains some footage previously available on the web as well as footage of the Joe Jeannette fight. This film is 97 years old and in the public domain. Please send this via email to the IBRO community as I do not believe this film (although highlights) should be hidden for the select few. I named the film The Boston Terror more because it fits what I am trying to display than the fact that it is a more politically correct nickname than The Boston Tar Baby. The music is instrumental and royalty free but fits the theme of the video so I dont have to worry about the You Tube nazi's taking it down.

HH, thank you for this clip of the man that oldtimers raved about...I,who have been watching boxing for many decades, now have a better understanding of the accolades, of the historians of the past...
tis a shame that we, the public should be deprived of these old films, because of DAMN GREED. These historic films should be in the public domain, before it is subject to the ravishes of aging...Thanks a lot
    Henry...b.b.

That footage of his fight with Jeannette is going to go a long way in re-establishing his claim as the greatest of them all. A perception that was common through the time period where people who were still alive remembered him. Style wise that fight looks like it could have been fought last year. And it's against a hall of fame great not a bum!

    Excellent stuff!
We hear about Jack Johnson's great uppercut, but here we see Langford's , effortlessly smashing through Flynn's guard, and Sam was over 5 inches shorter than Jack.
    A master class!
    Thanks for posting it:good

At work at the minute (the work computers don't let me view Youtube) but can't wait to get back to see this!! You were a legend before this Hascup - but I'm guessing this is going to increase your legendary status to near godlike proportions

Adam sent me the video. I slowed the film speed and sent it back. Then made this tribute video highlighting Sams skills. I probably could have gone even more in depth but was excited to get it out so people could see how great Sam really was.

    Keep Punching

Great stuff. 4 minutes well spent. And I needed no convincing regarding Sam. He has been my #1 ATG for quite a while.

I'm curious of thoughts on Jeanette after seeing this footage. Any revisions? Any illuminations? Honestly, I never thought much of him from the scant footage available. Then again, he had to learn his craft the hard way.
