Roy Jones to face Michael Sprott in May 2011

Roy man, what the hell happened to you?! :-(
Does he think beating Sprott will earn him a WBA titleshot like Audley got? Newsflash Roy, Audley got the shot because he's Audley and is supposed to be an(other) easy fight for Haye. And I won't be surprised one bit if Sprott would knock Roy's old ass out again.
Of course it's a boxer's own choice if he wants to fight on until (or after) serious braindamage emerges, and to **** on his own legacy (although it shouldn't count it always does count), but it's such a damn shame!

Hang 'm up Roy! Don't do this to yourself and your (former) fans!

 

Better for what ? A 3rd round KO ? He got Koed in the 1st round by a cruiserweight last year.

 

Some details on said Danny Green/hand wrap situation would be greatly appreciated.

 

David Haye would absolutely annihilate him and it would be a sad sight!!

I am just repeating here what I was told (in case for any reason someone thinks they can try and sue me again)

Roy Jones Jr staff were watching the hand wraps of Green, as is normal.

Then they noticed something was wrong with the wraps, like there was far too much hand wrapping going on so they asked them to do it again and went to report to Roy.

Then after they told Roy they went back to the dressing room where Danny Green was supposed to having new wrapping on and they saw that the hand wraps were even worse than when they left, they had obviously added more, but when they said something they were thrown out and had the door slammed on their faces and locked.

Then Roys team were told either you fight or it is all called off and we will say you wouldnt fight (think this means it would have possibly left him open to a fine, thats the impression I got) So Roy fought on like a real man, such as myself.

Now I don't know if it is true, I believe Roy Jones Jr but in no way am I claiming I know the facts or am in anyway liable for the information I just posted (although I probably am)

 

It's a free world, Roy can do what he wants.
I lost interest in his bull**** years ago, this is just more of the same, except on a lower level , and for less money.
It's an ESPN Friday night type fight, maybe not even, so who cares?

 

Roy should win this no matter how shot he is.

At this point, I wouldn't put it past anyone to beat RJJ now. It's sad and yes, someone needs to give a color commentary job on ANY network that does boxing. Make Tarver and Jones call a fight together on Showtime. That would be interesting.

It was time to retire and sad in 2003. In 2010 its ****ing tragic. Not sure why Roy can't let it go.

why dont jones and holyfield do all of us afavour and retire, you are never gonna get back what you once had,the real fans want this and chances are your families want this a lot more than we do, so do boxing a big favour and retire.
