    ^^ This post is ridiculous.

The hand wraps things is bollocks. And even if Green did have loaded gloves (he blatantly didn't) that doesn't disguise the fact that Roy's speed, power, reflexes, punch resistence and movement have all diminished massively since he exited his prime and started getting KO'd by guys who wouldn't have laid a glove on him when he was a proper fighter, and not a walking corpse & shadow of his former self.

He's tainting his legacy by fighting on and making money of a persona that should've hung up the gloves a long time ago. As a massive Roy Jones fan it pains me to see one farce after another, one excuse after another.

How the **** is Michael Sprott a "great fight" for him? Personally, I see absolutely nothing to be excited about. A decent version of Roy Jones tried it up at HW and didn't really fancy it. But at least then he was getting a career high payday for fighting a beatable and limited title holder for a presitgious belt. Fighting Michael Sprott for a fraction of the money and no belt, and running the very real risk of once again being KO'd by an unremarkable opponnet is not "EXCITING" its tragic.

Roy will make a fool out of Sprott even at this stage of his career. He hasn't been legitimately knocked out for 6 years. The Green fight was controversial and the stoppage was premature. Apart from the Green fight, he's only lost to world class opposition and Sprott is not anywhere near world class. We all know what Roy does to B and below level fighters.

Wow what a fight! It`s one thing to finish your career with loses two ATG`s in Calzaghe and Hopkins, and even Greene is a legit world champ...but Sprott is something totally different...if RJJ loses this (50-50 i reckon) he will ended up fighting 6 rounders against up and comers with a pro record of 9-1.

Sorry but I totally find this to be an interesting fight.

Can't Be Touched was a bitchin' song, though.

I hope RJJ retires on a win. I'll be rooting for him in this fight, but can't see what he'll do in the division after that. He'll just end up being a victim of a top ten heavyweight or prospect looking for a name to beat

Unless he hopes to build some sort of drumbeat for a fight with Haye, Sprott is a poor choice for an opponent for Jones. At this point Sprott probably beats Jones and if Jones does win, he only beat Michael Sprott. Maybe he hopes beating an English fighter in England will put him into position to face Haye.

If Jones is going to fight on at heavyweight he'd be better served facing old guys he has a chance against who carry name value like Holyfield, Toney, and Tarver. Jones should have stayed at heavyweight after he beat Ruiz, now he's way too old and shot for it.

The problem is that he may not retire if he wins, because he will suddenly think he got it back. It's sad but Jones could retire after a severe knock down.

No doubt. Its sad to see fighters fight way past prime, I never like to see top fighters retire on a loss. It would be good if an elite fighter realised they were shot, and decided to retire by beating a C-level fighter in their hometown- just as a gesture to their fans. Elite fighters' mentality obviously never allows this though
