Boxing has always had racial undertones, but i've gotta say that it sure makes the fights more exciting. Say what you want about Pacquiao, Hatton, Calzaghe, or even to a similar extent famous Mexican fighters...but when they fight...their fans come out in full force and help their guy out. Whenever these guys fight on HBO, the audience is the 4th person in the ring...
neither I get where you are comeing from, Hatton is a really likeable guy but when it comes down to fight night I have a fealing I'll be pulling for Floyd.
I'm American, and I'd like to see Hatton dislocate Mayweathers spine .But I'm no hater. I just love British beer.
I feel like that too. Never noticed it until the UK resurgence of talent the past few months. These guys are behind their fighter 100%, and in the case of Floyd-Hatton i see myself getting nationalistic. I run the argument of why would i want Floyd to win? And the only excuse i have left is he's from the States. I think it's inevitable, it just sucks when some people are running their mouth sometimes and nationalism is the only thing they hold onto when they argue their point (Cough cough...PacDbest). It's still awesome to see guys building multicultural fanbases and crossing over, cus' its good for the sport.
A British boxer has to be a complete dickhead in order for me not to root for him in international fights, so I see why some of you Americans are hoping for a Hatton win..
Once the National Anthems have been sung (with the routinely booing of other nations national anthems by British football thugs-which the majority of Hatton fans are)..trust me, US support for Mayweather will increase by a large percentage!
The thing i love most about Mayweather is that i hate him so much. These 24/7 episodes are hilarious, comedic gold. They haven't done one without him yet, but there aren't many left who can play the bad guy role so well to make it interesting. Mayorga's great though, it's just the whole episode would be interpreters and wouldn't flow as nice as Mayweather-Hatton. Hatton's a good dude, i've liked him more since seeing how he's dealt with Mayweather's broadway performance.
Hatton doesn't have no where the multicultural fan base PBF has which goes without saying (Hint: Bernard Manning:deal) ...Waiting for GazProm to say what about those rent-a-brothers or my guess sparring partners (?) that suddenly appeared at Hatton's last public show...also anyone else find it funny how the camera kept centered around them.
...watch how Ignorant No.1: GazProm will now deny this to our American friends...trust me those boos will be heard down the strip and back again
