How would Eubank, Benn and Collins have done against Calzaghe's best opposition?

Whilst I'm not going to change my initial judgement, I can see where you are coming from.

The militant Irish fans here won't.

Eubank would completely dominate flat-footed Reid with his lateral movement, outside sharpshooting and cat-like reflexes. Benn may get into a war with Reid, be shaken a few times, shake him a few times, then use his bobbing-and-weaving and in-and-out ability and off-the-ropes-countering to come through victorious with judging. Collins would win exchanges with Reid and attacking from angles would negate Robin's counter-punching, I think he'd be a little too physical for Robin too and win on points.

Lacy I just don't rate at all.

Eubank would out-box one-dimensional Kessler easily with his lateral movement, outside sharpshooting and cat-like reflexes. I can see Kessler's laser right finding Benn's low head a few times, shaking Nigel and a follow-up combination at some point - mid-rounds maybe - finishing him. Kessler would find Collins constantly with his tight, straight punching either getting there first or side-stepping an in-coming Steve. But I can see Collins getting to him late and possibly stopping Kessler, though will go for a Mikkel distance win.

Eubank-Hopkins would be a staring contest, plenty of feinting too. I see Eubank landing his sneaky outside body shots with Hopkins being tall and upright, and using reflexes to avoid counters as he did. But I see Hopkins taking a number of rounds to measure him and better him down the stretch, leading off with long left hooks and finding a right hand range with Eubank's dipping or swaying. I'll go for a close Bernard UD.

Hopkins in 2008 chose the wrong fight plan and lost because of it. With the right plan he would have beaten Calzaghe very easily in my opinion.

Hopkin would have also beaten Eubank, Benn and Collins.

I think Collins would beat them all and in that sense i mean a 1996 Collins would beat a 2008 Hopkins and Jones. Would have loved to have seen Jones fight Collins in the nineties, Collins called him out enough times but Roy didn't seem to fancy it. It wasn't as if Collins didn't have the pedigree- he was a two weight world champion who was never stopped and was only ever beaten in title fights. I think Hopkins and Jones would have both bet Collins though if they met him in their prime...

Collins boxed for a living rather than on the side..... that's why Roy didn't want any of him.

Collins really wasn't that good IMO.
