Its an interesting style match up...I dont know...I really have to give it some thought. Glen may be too cagey for him?
Honestly Abrahams power is not the same as it was at Middleweight since moving up who has he stopped? Okay Taylor but Taylor had been stopped before not to mention Taylor IMO is a Middleweight and not a super middleweight. I honestly think Glen will smoother his shots and make it more of his kind of fight weather he has enough to knock out AA is another story but I do see this being a close fight and glen may be able to steal it
Arthurs rep sure has taken a beating after the Dirrell fiasco what you must remember is that a fighter is neither as good as he looks in a win or as bad in a loss.
difficult to predict, but i would have to go with AA. I think the antidote to Abraham's style is a fighter who moves a lot and has a lot of speed and quickness. Not exactly rocket science there, Dirrell obviously showed this already. Johnson is not that kind of fighter. He would go to war with Abraham and i think the younger, harder punching man should prevail in such a fight. On the other hand, like someone else pointed out in this thread, Johnson's cageyness and slick veteran moves might cause a problem for AA. Also, ofcourse, if Abraham doesn't knock you out, you have a good chance of outworking him and Johnson sure works in there. I'm still leaning slightly towards AA, but i would give the old man a good shot.
Not sure TBH. I question how Glen would take AA's shots. I also question whether or not AA will pull his trunks up to his chest to avoid Glen's bodypunches. jk I really don't know how that fight would play out.
Great point AA has a pretty low workrate as shown in his career. Johnson is a pressure fighter but not the easiest to hit cleanly to the chin. Abraham tends to throw wild and I'm pretty sure most of those hard shots won't touch Glen's chin.
Abraham won't be able to deal with Johnsons pressure. Froch sure can't fight backing up, which he would be doing against Glenn.Johnson will surely expose the limitations of both. Johnson pummels almost everyone in the Super 6 with the possible exception of Ward. Andre is the only one around that has the skill , speed, and ability to fight on the inside to deal with Glenn.
Abraham stopped post-pavlik versions of Miranda and Taylor. Other than that he has never stopped even one single world class opponent. However, he did allow Shannon Taylor, Lujaun Simon, and others to finish on their feet. Arthur Abraham stopping Glen Johnson seems very unlikely.
