They both retired from their fights with serious shoulder injuries.

I'm a fan of both pairs of brothers, but why do I suspect the Byrd fight will be held against Vitali while the Lopez fight will show Marquez's heart when fans compare boxing's greatest siblings?

Well for one Vitali was well ahead and could just have played defensive the rest of the match, where Marquez was in for 4 more rounds of hell.

    This.

And it's only really Vitali's detractors that point to this. More objevtive people in the boxing community don't really get on him about that anymore.

Its a badass pic of Iron Mike.

I was actually looking for pics of other fighters when i ran into it.

Your question is leading. Neither are disgraces. Both are warriors.

What is the fascination with whether someone quit or not? now I get it when they have a history of it, or take the easy way out far too early in fights without even attempting to give their best, but Marquez does not fit that criteria what so ever.

Agreed to all three. There are plenty of Klitschko haters here who would argue otherwise. I think both men made rational, pragmatic decisions.

:good Another warrior who's heart can't be questioned is Israel's Vazquez and he also failed to come out of the corner in his first fight with Rafa. This things happen in boxing and fighters shouldn't be looked down because of this.

fans go overboard here in the forums.. marquez lost he was a beaten men and maybe he faked the injury maybe it wasnt as bad and he didnt want to continue but to say he's a quitter and a disgrace is moronic and stupid and by you asking that question shows you dont know anything about the sport and havent been inside those ropes for a real fight... if fought hard and fell short no shame in that.. in any other sport when athletes get hurt they just go to the sideline or take a couple of days or months of and nobody say **** but in boxing they try to call you a quitter....

Marquez had a right to quit on his stool

The beating he was taking in the last 2 rounds are brain damaging, and he wasnt really firing back like he was against vasquez either
