Ortiz definitely isnt better than Kotelnik, and argubly isn't better than Malignaggi.

Ortiz isn't a top level fighter, the one time he stepped up he got a beating so bad he nearly quit the sport that night.

People here always complain about how Murray's not getting chances but when a big name does come up, he turns it down.

I'm surprised this forum isn't full of multi-millionaires the number of people who must have cleaned up at the bookies at 5/2 because they knew Kostya Zoo was on the slide when he fought Hatton.

Good management, good decision he would of not beaten him you got to take care of your own weight division before taking risks, if he took the fight and got beaten at this important stage of his career he would have nothing for what taking a massive gamble and moving up a weight.

Ortiz is better than both imo and he has a much better chance of beating Khan than either Kotelnik or Malignaggi did.

I'm a big fan of Ortiz, but where does Murray even come in to this. Just because Khan says so? They are different weights and at different stages (number of fights Murray has had doesn't come into it).

To say Murray ducked Ortiz is ******ed at best!!!

They are in different weights and Murray doesn't have a chance against Ortiz. Team Murray knows that they need to go for the weaker world level lightweights like Juan Diaz (as mentioned by Gallagher) or Soto. That is the best plan for Murray.

Correction, It wasnt Khan that said Murray should fight Ortiz but Richard Schaefer, Amir simply said Murray fighting Ortiz was a great oppertunity for Murray to showcase his skills all over the world.

Obviously Murray would rather fight in lesuire centers on some obscure channel against unknown opponents with 10 losses on thier records.

You can lead someone to water, But you cant make them drink it.

Joe Gallagher has had a hard on for Juan Diaz for a while, He is perfect opponent for John, Diaz has had two back to back defeats and is on the slide.

Gallagher wants to use Diaz name for Murray, But it will backfire because even Juan Diaz at this stage of his career can beat Murrays chops purple.

Murray would have got killed, Ortiz is a bigger guy and in a different class.

Murrays Career will be fought on a lower level than guys like Ortiz, just accept it.

Lexar and Lazarus are the same person, and you're definitely no NoHomeJerome as he hates Khan.

Taco Bill was similarly obsessed with John Murray and loved Khan, which is why you're suspect :deal

Experience? He'd get his **** wrecked and he'd be back to fighting scrubs and building himself back up. As it is, 135 is a stagnating division in terms of it's talent and an opportunity will probably soon present itself. Competition hasn't been great, but there's no guarentee he'd win if he gets a step up.

Come-forward style with not great skills, a basic defence and only accumulative power at domestic level doesn't spell much for his chances of beating fighters on the next level. As it is, they are clearly biding their time and expecting to be given an opportunity on the basis of his undefeated record and domestic/European level standing and he will probably end up getting one at some point.
