If he was going to do it he'd have to it straight after this fight because he hasn't got long left whether it be the restrictions he's put on himself or his actual physical peak. He's not one of these heavies that can go on mid 30's, he doesn't have the strengths/weaknesses for that to be viable so he's only got a few fights left. It wouldn't be worthwhile, and besides Adam Booth has done a fine job guiding the raw prospect we saw against Carl Thompson to a 2 division world champion. Take a few seconds to think about that, watch the videos and see how far he's taken Haye.
I think Nazim would be great man to have in the corner. Roach would probably be better for Haye, though.
what nazim is good at, as is booth is giving in-fight advice. they obviously talk through a gameplan with their fighters, going over many eventualities so that when a certain situation arises, theres no panic. all too often we see shitty, uneducated, lazy cornerwork: "you're just lettin him hit you" "you gotta do something" "what you doin out there?" this (almost always) fails to help a fighter, but booth, nazim and good cornermen keep calm, keep the fighters faith up and focus the fighter. repeating. drilling into a fighter in training, not panicing when things dont go your way all the time
Booth is fine. Very calm, always gives good, simple advice in the corner. Technically Haye isn't perfect but I dont think it matters at this stage, he has a defence based on staying just out of range with head movement, and given his chin this is probably best for him. And offensively he has the speed and accuracy, and of course power to land on pretty much anyone. He can be wild and sloppy at times when he is unloading, but again, I dont think it matters much really. Booth knows this and all he can really do is work on combos in close and tell him to pick his shots a little better when he has a guy hurt and is flurrying on him. We've seen this a few times and he has the speed to land decent shots like this anyway, but against a Klitschko the wildness could be the difference between a knockdown and a knockout. He does need to work on finishing an opponent cleanly.
The OP states that Naz only has two fighters, infact he trains several, including members of his own family. To be honest I think he only rates Nazeem so highly because he's one of the only trainers he could name. Believe it or not Mosley and Hopkins were great fighters before Naz met them! I agree with Billy Nelson that overseas trainers and gyms are overrated on these boards. Obviously the Wild Card is great, but that's one gym. If you have the right contacts you can spar a huge array of fighters from Britain and Ireland quite easily here, something more difficult in America.
that right there is his main problem! he does absolutely fine until he hurts his opponent, he starts squaring up and throwing arm punches and goes all over th place, someone like roach or joe goossenn could really help him work on that.
nazim was with hopkins from the beginning. and wild card isn't the only good gym, its just the most famous right now, savannah boxing gym, jesse reids gym, kronk, goossenn's, concrete jungle (nazim's) are all loaded with great prospects.
I remember there was some talk that Haye wanted to get Roach involved in his camp for the Klitschko fight, but it never materialized. He was training in wildcard too while he was in LA a few months back. If Haye ever does grow the balls to fight a Klitschko having Roach involved in any capacity would be a serious coup, since he has worked with both Wlad and Vitali in the past.
Roach is just in vogue at the minute because he trains two of the highest profile fighters in boxing and actively seeks publicity and loves having smoke blown up his ass. Someone like Richardson, Brooks or Beristain are equally as good, but keep to themselves.
