having a huge outward ego but folding and calling it a day after his first loss is exactly why you people find who they are in the ring..but it takes a day like that to know what people are really made of.

How was he outclassed did you see he scorecards? Clearly lost yes but not dominated as some people like to make out.

I agree with you that coming back from a lose shows more character and quality but he is not like BHOP and able to reinvent his style to compensate for deteriorating abilities. Not many boxers are capable of this. You get old lose an important trait (speed, reflex, chin etc) become shot and just lose more often.

Thats why Naz retired at the right time not because he lost but because he felt he was not as good as he used to be. That what the point of the Calvo fight was all about. Trust me if he had blasted him out in 2 rounds he would have rematched MAB.

 

Calzaghe retired at ther right time but you are very wrong about not having anything to prove, Joe Calzaghe fought nobody worth fighting or beating, during or anywhere near to their prime. Joe beat and old way past it Roy jones and a very old ten year past his best hopkins oh and dont let me forget chris eubank way past his best to and they are his career best wins ,when they were in their prime where was Joe, in wales fighting nobodies and not interested until he knew they were way past it.
