no world class in his prime or near it boxer has fought a world class k-1 guy. if it did happen, odds are the best chance for the k-1 guy to win is with careful matchmaking. bringing in a boxer who isn't hyper aggressive and would stand back and study his opponent allowing the kicks to start and maybe do enough damage to change the course of the fight. if it's an aggressive prime boxer who swarms, well look at what bob sapp was able to do, look at goodridge (not a boxer but the theory is the same) vs bernardo the first time and that's the probable reality to the boxing v kickboxing fantasy match.

none of the boxers were prime world class at the time they fought k-1, none.

This is old. And quite irrelevant. I do remember this quite clearly. As at the time Shannon Botha Mercer and Vince Phillips all made forays into the K1. It was quite a farce really. These were kind of the lost years of Shannon. Im not sure entirely what he was playing at.

You want to see what happens when a kick boxer meets a boxer then watch Bonjansky vs Mercer. That fight was so bad it was comical.

If that bout was MMA Erikson would have tooled Briggs. Remember what Erikson did to Matt Skelton? Im not sure if that sub is even legal any more under the unified rules.
