Yes, he should have his purse witheld.
He wont, and he wont do this either but he should take enough money to cover his expenses, then give the rest to charity. He didnt earn it between the ropes tonight.
Landing one punch and throwing no significant left hands in 3 rounds despite mouthing for the last 10 weeks what was going to happen when he did, is a disgrace and not deserving of a payday.

His gameplan was to drag Haye into the later rounds, by doing nothing????????????
Well even if he did he'd have already put himself in an impossible position to win on points which means the whole gameplan devised in the last weeks was on one lucky punch late on????

I dont believe he should be paid for that.

Look at the stuff broadcast from his training camp. Out of the ring he was up for this. He worked hard and got himself in shape.

But... this was on the cards from day one. He's scared and gunshy. It's just what he is. To say he didn't try does him a disservice. As I said before he's just incapable.

Yeah i totally see what you mean Doug but you know and i know that he shouldn't be anywhere near a world title fight. We all know he's mentality. He is who he is. I ain't angry at him...the guys just not got it in him...It hurts to see a world title that mean have fought bravely for be disrespected like that but end of the day Haye was the guy that picked him. Audley went in there and i think bottled throwing because of fear of getting sparked...he froze IMO. I like to think so...i cannot say what he thought..but i wouldn't withold someone's purse for 3 rounds of both men doing next to nothing.

I think holding his purse would be a little bit harsh, I think he really though he would win, but just because someone is not good enough, does not give the right to hold the purse!

so, why should a purse be held ?....regardless of why he froze or how well intention some people think he was....he did NOTHING for three rounds..he did NOT try....being scared is not an excuse at this level, he was fighting for a world heavyweight title, he should have the mentality of going through ****ing walls to win...he did NOTHING...ziltch...and had NO intention of doing anything.

i'm repeating myself here....he cant have done anything less than nothing....this didnt happen in the first 30 seconds...he had three rounds to do something..anything.

Thing is Doug he ain't first and won't be the last, It happens, it's what sets guys like Katsidis and Marquez's of this world apart from likes of Audley. He could easily say ''my plan was to counter with one left hand but David never really threw and when he did he hit me. How can you take my purse for that? my plan didn't work shoot me!!!''

He didn't just fall over and give up, i see guys fall over without being hit in world title fights.

Yeah i agree mate but dunno i think when we see things like the Paul Briggs joke that's night and day.

Seldon, Akinwande, Harrison...there will be plenty more guys that bottle it on bigstage. I will rewatch the ''fight'' and see if i can give different view. :good

You can, you can do nothing in training. Audley deserves more respect tonight than some of the fat, out of shape excuses that have come in against the Klits lately.

Being a repeat offender, upon leaving the ring he should've been arrested & charged for impersonating a professional boxer, then had his olympic medal stripped whilst kept in police custody.

During his trial he should be put on the stand & made to watch all of his pre-fight interviews and asked to justify every single quote.

well, no frankly....those out of shape excuses did more than him.
its not what you say before a fight, its not about how hard you train, its not about what you intend to do, or game plans......its about what you actually do in the ring....and he did literally NOTHING.

i have a picture of him laughing in his car going home thinking about all the money he made for nothing.

i respectfully dont understand defending a boxer doing absolutely nothing for the guts of three rounds of boxing.

Well you obviously didn't notice him him crying in the ring afterwards then.

I disagree, it's about all those things.

right....whats the point in saying you trained hard, or you had a good game plan, or you intended to win if you do nothing in the ring ?
    you know what i mean.
yes, training obviously means a lot to boxers...but in this instance its no defence for him to say he trained hard.

look, audley has always boxed with a very cautious style, so did you expect anything different when fighting against a guy who is known to be fast and ounch hard? audley trained hard for this fight, you could tell by his shape, but he just can't release his punches, and he's always been like that, which is why haye was always going to win this fight.
