Even as a Marquez fan, I think current Pac mops the floor with Marquez at any weight at which the fight would get made. You'd have to go down to 135 to make it even slightly competitive, IMO, and I can't see that happening.

Martinez has a couple problems against Pac. #1 He is a very gifted athlete but his footwork is hideously bad and he frequently takes flash knockdowns because he is off balance and just goes down which will create 10-8 rounds against him that he might have otherwise won 10-9. #2 He is not a hard puncher by any means and has less power than Manny.

Martinez also has some nice things about him. #1 He's very awkward and is good at slowing down opponents work rate even if he is relatively easy to hit when his opponent occasionally gets to throw a punch. #2 He is lightning fast which is generally awesome when you are also the bigger guy in a fight.

Manny could certainly compete with him and if I there is a KO I would expect it to be Manny KO'ing Martinez though I think the most likely result is a decision of some sort. One additional problem for Martinez is that judges apparently hate him and he frequently under performs on the scoring cards relative to what most people think happened. I would make Manny a slight favorite over Martinez at 154 and a slight dog at 160. Martinez just isn't an imposing fighter that makes use of his weight though a reach advantage is very good for his style.

pacquaio a class above sergio. And he kills southpaws. Sergio is probably too big though, but who knows really.

I think Pac beats Martinez IMO. Roach/Arum said they will consider the winner, depends if Roach finds something he can exploit.

Lets not forget that Martinez drew with Cintron just 2 fights ago, lost to PW(controversially) in his last fight and yea he was green but he also lost to Margo many years ago. Based on their fights with each other, Clottey/Cintron/Margo/PW/Martinez/Cotto, they are all roughly in the same class, maybe a class below or above each other. Pac has proven to be atleast 2 classes above these guys, he doesnt just beat them, he destroys them or completely shuts them out.

Both southpaw, similar style but Pac's speed will win it for him. It will be a close fight and easily Pac toughest fight since JMM.

Martinez would be tough, but Sergio does get hit alot.

Pac would kill Paul Williams though. I would not be surprised if Paul wins and Arum and Roach jump on that fight.

To be honest, it's not superior size and physical strength that will beat Pac, it's someone who can match him for handspeed and accurace. Pac managed to absolutely hammer De La Hoya, Margarito, Hatton and Cotto, even though all of them were bigger and stronger than him. The guys who have done best against him, Morales and Marquez, have not been big but they've been fast enough to land on him.

The speed difference meant that Pac could hit Margarito at will, and not get hit with much in return. As long as he keeps fighting guys who are much slower than him, and lack his mobility, then he will keep winning. You can't beat a guy who you can't hit, even if you are 20lbs heavier than him.

Speed advantage cancels out weight and size advantage in these kinds of fight, so I'd be very interested to see how Pac does against someone with very quick hands. Clottey was the closest in terms of handspeed, but I think that he was just trying to hang on and avoid getting hurt.

Someone like Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan or Timothy Bradley have the speed to be able to ask Floyd a lot more questions than Margarito, who only his his strength and his heart. If you want to see the limitations of bravery watch the Hatton fight, suicidal head-first attacks don't work against someone who can pick their shots so accurately, and strength is only an advantage when you get close enough to make it count, as in De La Hoya and Margarito.

Pac is still an absolute beast tho.

Martinez speed both feet and hands arent anywhere close to Pac's, please man, wtf. Where was that handspeed and footspeed against Cintron, he should have shut him out 12-0.

Pac has been caught by Cotto, Clottey and Margo, its safe to say he has a great beard, enough for us to stop fretting about it. It will be a boxing match and Pac despite being smaller, will just do everything Martinez does, better.

Just because Martinez outboxed perhaps the biggest plodder of them all in Pavlik dont make an equal in terms of hand and footspeed with Pac.

I don’t think JMM gets slaughtered...every great boxer has someone who has their number. Norton had Ali's, Tarver had Roy's...JMM has Pac's number. It'll always be a good fight.
