HBO is home to the world's biggest boxing show. It has almost total control of how much boxing grows. Is HBO announcers hurting boxing? Maybe so

There is a lot to know and to relate to both fighter and fan alike you have to be assertive not only about fighting but in speach and argument. Its gonna be hard to find a socially mature philosopher who can both fight publicly and has had lots of fighting experience. Steward and Atlas can be despicably biased to the point where I am sure they are paid off at times but they really know boxing and they can speak. De la Hoya and Roy Jones could be good and Freddie Roach would be interesting to.

However, IMO these guys need team members that are not afraid to question them or their HBO bosses because the fans can smell bull and biased from miles away .

I've always wondered why they don't use fighters or trainers moar often? Instead we have sports journalists running the show like Kellerman and Lampley. wtf

Yeah same here. Something has to be done but like I said, it wouldnt be easy. It woulfnt be easy to find a working team that asks the right questions and it probably wouldnt even be easy to keep the team from fighting with their fists. Oh and I forgot George foreman and Ice man skelly

Have to agree with you on this.

Max, especially, was, basically, diminishing the importance of the superfight, with his claims Floyd is waiting for Pac to show signs of slippage, before taking the fight, and THIS was the fight that shows that time is NOW. It was sort of an insult to both fighters. Now whether this is true or not, is debatable. But, it has no place in a PPV telecast, when this is supposed to be one of the most significant fights in boxing history. That does not help to better market that fight, especially, with fringe fans.

And Lampley...is a *******. I don't know how else to put it. No offense to any Pac fan. The dude's excitement seemed almost orgasmic and sh\t (no homo). He kept his "Bang, Bangs" (Johnny Witherspoon's) to a minimum. But, it was obvious, he could barely contain himself.

Emmanuel...was expecting more from Margo, I think. But, I don't think he diminished Pac's performance. It was clear Margo was hurt from that bodyshot. He was doubled over from that. I don't recall Steward's reaction and comments to that one.

Depends. If you're talking about Frenchmen, then yes most of them suck, but in Québec, we're generally not that bad.

Anyways, even English speakers who also speak French don't know how to pronounce French name, they make it look like it's a very difficult task.:verysad:D

I was at a loud sports bar for the fight so I couldn't hear all the commentary, but I did notice that they spent at least the second half of the Jones / Soto-Karass bout yammering on about what was going on with the handwraps and backstage beverages.

Really disrespectful to Jones / S-K which was actually an exciting, close fight.
