All these pundits saying Audley froze? I've heard it repeated many times, Duke Mckenzie now saying it on BBC5 live. No he didn't, he's just not very good and that's the way he's near always fought. It was never going to be any different, it was never about him freezing ie he had something else, but fear didn't let him release it. Audley just never ever cut the mustard as a pro and should have never in a million years been given the fight.
Audley has always been scared of getting hit. That is his biggest weakness. Haye was the biggest puncher he has ever faced. Audley was more scared than ever. He froze.
He didn't feeze, he simply knew that if he tried to throw he'd get KTFO as he's not very good, that's not freezing.
Agreed. He was fairly solid defensively first 2 rounds. Like in any heavyweight fight one shot and it was over. If Audley landed the shot on Haye instead it would be no different.
Sorry mate, freezing to me means that he had something else to offer, but froze and couldn't offer it. The fact is, he was never good enough and never in a million years was going to land on Haye, nor be able to take his punches. He simply never had anyting at all to offer, we all knew that pre-fight. That's not freezing, thats a shot, 40 year old, below domestic level boxer, stuck in a HW World Title fight, against a prime, big punching, world level operator.
he landed that jab in the second round but hay went for him and he craped his pants then in third he did'nt want to know, it looked as if haye was just a bit too close for audley to let anything go without getting a reply?
I don't think he froze at all, he just did like Audley did for far too much of his career and was set in counter-punching mode. He refused to come out of his shell.
Rabbit in the headlights, he stiffened when he got caught in the third round like Frank Bruno used to when he got hurt
The controversy is funny because most of the hardcore predicated annihilation and yet when it happens they throw there arms in the air.
