by the way to alot of the yanks on here who may not have seen it hatton is out of rehab and was at the haye fight on saturday and actually looked like he had lost alot of weight

 

Yeah they are both way past their best and its kind of a bitter-sweet fight if it happens... but I'm still interested as hell and if Hatton can get into decent shape he can win it. Either way, its a huge fight in the UK and I would watch it enthusiastically especially because it would most likely be each guy's last fight.

Before everone starts hating on Oscar, I think it is a fair offer. Neither man deserved to end his career on a low note, and Ricky could benefit from another fight financially and it would help him to get over his loss to Pacquiao. It would be a good enough fight that I think he would be happy with his effort and it would be entertaining. They are both done, but I think even a shot Oscar easily beats him at this point (or any point). But, it wouldnt be a brutal KO like at the hands of Pac and I think Hatton could walk away from boxing a happier man.

Robert Diaz, matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, reached out to ***********.com to set the record straight on the widespread story which claimed Diaz had approached Ricky Hatton with an offer to fight Oscar De La Hoya. According to Diaz, not only is the story not true, but the statements, attributed to Diaz in the British press, were never made.

Diaz did attend last Saturday's fight between David Haye and Audley Harrison at the MEN Arena in Manchester, and he did spend time with Hatton during the fight week of Haye-Harrison, but the two of them never discussed the possibility of a ring return.

"There is no truth to it. I did spend some time out there for the David Haye fight and I did spend a lot of time with Ricky. We spoke about family and soccer and food and we joked around, but we never spoke about boxing. We never discussed him coming back. There were even reporters who came up to me and asked me if I want to see Ricky back. As a fan, I said that I would like to see Ricky come back, but that decision can't be made by me.
