Where the hell is the hype for martinez williams 2??????

this fight should have been on the undercard the 13th, show people a real competetive fight

 

Well actually PW was being a ***** about a few things but it got worked out.
Martinez the champ offered him 50-50 and he said no.
They are fighting for the linear MW title at 158 because PW said he would not do 160.
Just saying....

Good thread, this is a great fight coming up and deserves some serious attention.

 

The sad truth is, aside from boxing diehards, nobody really knows who these 2 guys are. Walk up to any casual boxing fan in the street and point to both Williams and Martinez and ask them to name them. They wont know!

 

yeh its nuts. what ever it is about williams he just comes across boring. for such a great match up the hype is awful.

 

I pray Martinez wins. I can't stand how P. Willy fights. He kind of reminds me of Jermaine Taylor. He is someone who should be better skilled than what he is but not smart enough to improve.

 

This fight doesn't need hype. People who know, know.

I'm really excited about this match. Two fighters that are avoided because of their skill and versatility. For boxing fans if Martinez wins we may get a third rubber match fight

i live in LA and the ESPN station interviewed Jim Lampley and he comented that if its true that Magerito used hand wraps in prior fights, than that makes Paul Williams victory over him all that much more impressive.

If Paul Williams wins, it would be cool if he took a page from Bernad Hopkins book ala Felix Trinidad and started stalking Mayweather and Pacman. Calling them both out. i personally don't think either one wants anything to do with the Punisher...

I know lots of people are saying casual fans might not watch it but I think they will. This fight has gotten more publicity than pavlik martinez did, and pavlik was the great white hype. Between HBO shows they always have the 45 second commercial showing their first fight. Also, i commute to NYC and in times square they put a huge billboard right smack in the middle of both of those guys so hopefully lots of people tune in!

 

I just hope we get a definite winner this time.

Any noobs or casual fans reading this, forget Pacman and Money. This is the real fight everyone should be watching. I want it to be a classic like the first, but I just hope they come out alright to give us some mo classics in the future!!! WAR La Maravilla! WAR The Punisher!

 

I'm going to enjoy watching this rock' em sock' em fight. BTW, anyone knows why this is a catch weight fight?
