that was clearly a Martinez round. I can't understand how anyone could see it as a round for Williams.
I gave Martinez the edge in the 1st round. Regardless, winning up to the point of which he got knocked the **** out is completely irrelevant. It's not like he was dominating for 9 or 10 rounds before getting starched by one punch. If he was winning, he won 1 close round. Which bares similarities to Hatton's 'I was winning that second round by a mile [before Pacquiao turned me into a depressed drug addict]'.
Williams probably did enough to win the first round (though Martinez did land the best punch of the round) and was winning the second. No one will admit it; that is to be expected. Lots of boxing fans are like that... Hell, six months from now it will be remembered that Paul didn't land a single shot and Martinez tagged him at will... That is how boxing fans operate. That is very true.
I thought Williams won because of activity, but Martinez landed better punches. sounds sort of ridiculous I know.
I scored the first for Williams but can't argue with anyone that gave it to Martinez, it was 50/50 and Martinez' punches clearly stunned Paul.
