Would Pirog B Martinez's most dangerous opponent?

After looking up a lot of Pirog's fights on youtube i am inclined to think hes the goods.
Seeing that he uses this hybrid defense, loads of head movement and constant angles.

It's obviously too early to tell but i think he would give Martinez a lot of trouble.

 

I hesitate to say but I suspect Pirog is a high quality challenge to Martinez. It would be a lot of natural talent in the ring at once.

And yes, Pirog IMO, iwill give Martinez a good fight.

 

I can't say because like most people on here, I've only seen him fight once, and it was against a guy who I had always thought was overhyped and not that good (Jacobs). That's not to say that I wasn't extremely impressed by that victory, but that didn't give me enough to truly gauge him. I will say that his defense, and specifically his head movement seemed to be really good. I think that alone may give Martinez some problems. But I wouldn't expect Martinez to fight offensively and reckless like he did against Williams. I'd expect him to fight like he did against Pavlik and box. He'd move side to side while Pirog chased him around the ring and he'd try to pot shot Pirog when he can.

 

It'll be a good fight, I think Pirog's a very good boxer with KO power, hopefully Martinez would fight smart and we'll see a fast paced, technical but quite unorthodox fight, if there's such a thing as that

 

would he a great fight but i would prefer to see Martinez whupp the asses of our german paperbelt holders Sturm, Zbik and Sylvester.
A Pirog fight isn't big enough at the moment let's wait until Pirog has some big wins @160 t that won't last long

But very dangerous , Williams will always be the most dangerous fighter anyone fights , he's the best fighter in the world at making you look bad :deal

Pirog is low reward high risk , Martinez should stir clear until we as the boxing public know more about Pirog , i really like Pirog Pavlik , but we aint never gonna see that , at least not any time soon

Pirog is for real though , and maybe down the line the best available option for Martinez but not right now

Honestly, I don't think so. Pirog is highly skilled, and would be a tough match for most fighters, but I don't think he's in Sergio Martinez's league. Pirog is excellent at slipping punches, is pretty quick, and as we have seen he carries a lot of power. But for all the skill he showed against Jacob's I quickly noted he was lacking in some areas. I think Martinez would beat him by decision, unless he spectacularly pulled something out of the bag like he did against Williams. Pirog does not have a high output, he works on slipping shots and countering. Margarito, Williams (first fight), and Kermit Cintron to some extent all troubled Martinez becuase they throw lots of punches. Pirog would not trouble Martinez in this way. Pirog also had trouble when Jacob actually utilised his handspeed and threw fast punches, Jacob's handspeed made Pirog uncomfortable. As we know, Sergio is a very quick fighter who throws punches and can adapt well. His power is more than respectable enough to keep Pirog at bay. You can't slip every punch, especially against an accurate puncher like Martinez who connects a lot.

Martinez is just the superior fighter. He would give Pirog lot's to deal with, and Pirog would not have that much to give back because of his low punch output. I think even Paul Williams would give Pirog lots of trouble unless he adapted to Paul's handspeed and enourmous output, although Pirog if he stayed game could beat Williams Quintana style.

The middleweight division is rich with talent at the moment. To name one fighter, I think Golovkin would give more trouble to Martinez than Pirog. But that is just my opinion.

 

Pirog should take on Golovkin or N'Dam N'Jikam.

Martinez should take on Bute or Sturm.

The winners should fight.

 

I still think Golovkin is the next big thing at 160

 

From this I gather you have only seen the Jacobs fight?

 

Middleweight would do really well to have a tournament elimination style with

Danny Jacobs(or Sebastian Sylvester)
Dmitry Pirog
Hassam N'Dam N'Jikam
Gennady Golovkin
Felix Sturm
David Lemieux

and then the winner fights Martinez.
