Take away the champions (Sturm, Sylvester, Pirog) and there mandatroys (Golovkin, Geale) who else at MIDDLEWEIGHT 160lbs can he fight?? The difference between Zbik and all the **** you mentioned is that he is a top 10 fighter with everyone in the middleweight division.

thats fair enough but if its a catchweight I won't consider it a Middleweight title fight. I want to see the World Champion defend his title.

Its fine by me if he fights Zbik next but I'm not bothered if he choses not to.

(I totally agree with you on the catchweights/ title issue, middleweight titles are contested at 160lbs)

Yeah, the record books care what you or I about what constitutes a title fight :nut

Hopkins-DLH was at a catchweight, nobody mentions that these days. Catchweights are a bit **** but as MW champion Martinez would have to agree to a catchweight. He can say "**** off, I'm the champion and I'm coming in at 160" if he wishes.

He can fight Macklin, Lemieux. Martirosyan, Angulo, Lara can all step up to 160, Cintron can step up, ****ing Mundine would make more sense than Zbik

Zbik is only top 10 with the likes of the Ring cos the division is so WEAK!! Because there's no real standout contender at 160 for Martinez to take on he's free to look at lower divisions for opponents.

Ok now that I have stopped laughing after you mentioned Macklin.

I don't think Lemieux's team would take that fight yet.

Martirroysion, Angulo, Lara and Cintron could all step but but I still think Zbik would be a better fight and I wouldn't say Martoroysion or Lara deserve the shot more than Zbik either.

The fight does make sense. Zbik is his mandatory. I still don't think Martinez is in a position to ditch his belt. Its not an amazing fight but its not a horrendous fight. HBO would probably still buy it and pay Martinez as much, of not more then he got for his last 3 fights. because he was the B side. In the meantime they showcase the likes off Pirog on BAD. See if Geale or Golovkin and dethrone the German champions. If Golovkin KO's Sturm him agaisnt Martinez becomes a big fight to boxing fans. Guys like Lemieux, Guererro can build up towards that level with some more impressive wins.

Macklin's win over Asikainen pisses over anything Zbik has done so far.

I think Zbik will be Team Martinez's last resort, if they fail to make any other fights.

Lemieux's team have said they want Martinez next year, ok maybe not Martinez's first fight of the year but if he fights 2/3 times Lemieux could be one of them.

I don't think Asikainen is dramatically different to Spada.

Yeh like I said Lemieux in Canada late next year is a big payday and winnable fight.

I am hopeful or Pirog, or maybe Sturm knowing he can avoid Golovkin and get paid well.

I'd like Martinez in against Sturm. No catchweight bull****, just go and unify at MW.
