Instead of challenging overgrown midgets, why won't Sergio Martinez look at 168lbs...

Here's the facts, Pac is a small welterweight who weighed 143lbs for a 150lbs fight. His walking weight is at 150 lbs and he is currently fighting at 147 against men who outweigh him by several pounds and who are fit to fight at jr. middleweight. By that standard, Martinez who walks around at 170lbs should be fighting at 168lbs. If he wants to be pound for pound number one, his path is not to challenge Pac. His path is to come up to 168 lbs and clean out the supersix the way pac went up to 147 to clean up the welterweight. Hell, i wouldn't complain if Martinez challenge any of them to a catchweight of 166lbs or if he challenge Dawson to a catchweight of 171lbs.

there are bigger fishes to fry at supermiddleweight- Bute first and foremost and Froch or Kessler who surely wouldn't skip out on the challenge. there is Abraham, and Ward who could pose technical challenges to the very talented martinez and of course there is the slick coward Andre Dirrel. That are a lot of names to conquer where martinez could prove his mettle and his number 2 (some even say number 1) pound for pound ranking.

Oh wait, they're all too big for him :rofl:rofl. Bring on Floyd and Pacquiao, these midget cowards better man up and fight the middleweight champ :good:good:happy:happy

When he was asked about future fights he said he'd wait for some offers. He's not chasing. Kellerman then specifically asked him about potential fights with Pacquiao and Mayweather. Martinez said he won't go below 156. That effectively rules both fights out.

    168 is a joke..there's no money there.

Right now Maravilla is a big fish in a big pond. I think he beats them all. Floyd, Pac, Angulo, Kirkland, Chavez Jr.

    Fantastic fighter!!

he'll be even more fantastic and live to his hype if he starts slaying the giants at 168, i'd be his biggest fan lol. If he knocks out abraham or froch and outboxes ward, he'll be the superstar of this decade

Sergio's agent said they would consider a fight with Bute, but Bute's now at Showtime so it's unlikely that fight gets made. So there is the possibility he could fight at 168 or close to it at a catch weight.

Showtime owns the 168lb division and Martinez is an HBO fighter.

so Martinez is ****ed? I'm not sure if he should be waiting for offers. All the divisions he can fight in are limited.
