You cannot fight for a title even 1 lb over the weight limit.

The fact that Martinez can't even fight for his old title should be common sense by now.

At this point in his career, he's just that bigger than even Margarito is. Heck, he even said he's bigger than Williams, and Williams is taller than he is.

CABALLERO and NONITO DONAIRE are as tall as he is. You think Caballero and Donaire can fight and win against him?

Why focus on Martinez. Boxing has become a little idiotic with catchweights and all that. Many years ago if Pacman couldn't fight a 160 pound Martinez then the fight would not happen. Simple. Ray Leonard is the one who started this catchweight stuff and changing of rules around it. Lalonde for two titles and Donny had to fight at 168 where he was not fighting and was not champion there.

Exactly this. People keep bringing up that oh hes a 154 champion so should defend that belt. Big problem with a Martinez fight then 155>154. So even if Pac had desire to defend the LMW belt, he couldn't do it against Martinez. Or at least couldn't do it unless Martinez came down to a maximum of 154 which he seems unwilling to do.

**** Team Pacquiao if they make Martinez drop to 147. Jesus, you know they offered it. They'd probably request it at 144.

Ummmmmmmmmm... you realize that Martinez would be defending his meaningless strap along with his actual lineal middleweight title at 155 lbs, don't you?

My impressions of Twirdman: not smart.

Just under 3 years ago, Pac was fighting at junior lightweight and now you guys want him to get murdered by a middleweight.

This fight should be last resort for both fighters.

No ****, I would too. Pac shouldn't fight Martinez. It's a fight that shouldn't happen. Pac has gone far enough. He needs to plant his stakes and just keep doing what he is doing. Absolutely no need to go even higher.

    That's right.
At 155, yes. At 150 Manny has a chance.

Exactly Pac isn't ready or willing to go for another weight class and he shouldn't be expected to. He doesn't think he can win a MW strap so he decides to stay in a division he is already in namely WW. Now if Martinez challenged him at 154 for Pacs LMW belt maybe this would mean something but he didn't. He asked Pac to come up to his weight class and Pac said no that weight is too high. Whats so hard to understand about that.

No, a jr.middleweight and a smaller one than the one he just faced. Nobody forced Manny to go to 154. But because he is a cherry picking coward, now he wants to play the "he big, I little" card again. :-( You can't have it both ways Manny!
