This fight will likely end one of two ways for me, either Froch mostly outboxes him and gets the decision. Or Abraham lunges in with a wild, sweeping right hook that knocks Froch out cold and outdoes Martinez's knockout of the year after last week against Paul Williams. It's a good match up because both have styles that whilst different, are far more effective than they're given credit for. Abraham's a solid boxer who tends to looks mediocre to poor for long spells before exploding, almost crocodile like, with vicious wide hooks and powerful straight rights. He's also capable of using pressure and sharp, accurate inside shots. He's a cameraman's dream with some of the punches he's produced in his career so far. Whereas Froch is the tall rangy guy that can everyone thinks is easy to outbox, until they stand opposite him and realise that his awkwardness is so difficult to control for 12 rounds. Froch can mix it up on the inside but his main strength against Arthur will be his control of distance and punching range while ripping away with body shots and punches around Arthur's tight head guard. All the advantages in this fight are for Froch and he should win. But he does have a tendancy to box like an idiot and if he's a little too confident I think he'll get sparked out. I fancy Froch to win a close-ish decision something like a 116-112 / 115-113 kinda thing.
You know very well why Gevor is mentioned in almost every AA thread Boo... Not because he is/was so good, but the devestating way he got KO'd.
I know bro, Booradley doesn't. He says AA ducked Pavlik :rofl:rofl GTFO Booradley. Go drink some beer with your boyfrind. :thumbsup
Froch is the bigger, taller man and also more active, but if Abraham is not able to win against a guy with average food speed and almost no defense, then he has no business in the Super Six. AA by KO between round 7 and 11. Also it's quite safe to say that Froch can't copy Dirrell.
As the fight nears I feel more confident on AA getting the knockout. Been watching loads of Froch. He is strong willed and in shape yet he is the most vanilla what u see is what you get fighter with a sub par defense and very sloppy footwork. AA easy easy KO. AA much the class.
How can u prove that his power is overrated??? and who is overrating it? We have seen both Arthur and Carl fighting Taylor... While Froch was trying to KO him 3 minutes Abraham just landed one right hand and he went to a deep KO. so how can you prove his power is overrated?? :deal
Lujaun Simon, who was living off Bronco McKart's left overs, went the distance with Abraham. Shannon Taylor came off a KO loss to Raymond Joval, and went the distance with AA. There is no guarantee that Abraham will stop Froch. He might stop him because Froch has the defensive prowess of a drunk ******, but it is far from a given.
I have a lot of respect for Taylor but I don't think he was the same after Pavlik. He has taken some brutal shots. he had Froch by points if not for the late KO. Abraham is so much more fundamently sound he does not waste punches and Froch has never faced this type of fighter before. Carl is not slick enough or even remotely slick enough to negate AA's heavy handed power. In fact he will enhance it with his poor footwork and easily timed combinations. AA will have fun butchering Froch's body and head until a white towel is flown into the ring.
Strange comments. Considering Abraham fought Taylor AFTER Froch did and it took him even longer to stop Taylor than it did for Froch, even considering Abraham was comfortably in control of that fight for most of it. Of course you can't prove his power is overrated and I don't think it is personally but in his last 4 fights, he couldn't stop Lajuan Simon, took him 10 and 12 rounds to get rid of Oral and Taylor and he wasn't able to 'legally' finish Dirrell in 11 either. Abe has power clearly, but has he ever knocked out anyone as strong as Carl Froch? Not yet anyway.
Froch cant run as Dirrell did as he has no bike. Froch was talking about Abrahams trunks kinda they are always more up then it should be. Check it out and U will see there is nothing like that. Froch already has all his excuses ready to talk more after this loose. I can respect this tactics what Froch is trying to do now.
Abraham's power is not over rated, but his abilities as a KO artist are definitely over rated. There are several guys around the weight who have higher, or about the same, KO ratios against generally better opposition. Those guys are simply better technicians who have better finishing skills. Abraham is basically a one-punch guy, and he is not always good at finding a way to land that one punch. If Froch would keep his left hand up where it belongs, and learn to jab off the back foot instead of the front foot, he'd beat the **** out of Abraham. However, I doubt if he is going to correct a mistake he has made his whole career.
