    It's definitely worth watching.

A really interesting look into how Cuba produces wave after wave of amatuer talent. Even at a very young age, they need tremendous discipline to get anywhere.

Yeah, I just like to pay for things boxing related which I buy.
I might watch it on the net and then buy it if I think it's worth it.

I'm one of the producers of SONS OF CUBA and it's great to hear the positive comments. We'd love you to buy the DVD from our website (www.sonsofcuba.com and click on the "buy dvd" link on the top right hand corner). It's only available in PAL and not NTSC at the moment. Some US DVD players can play it, but if not, it should definitely work in a computer.

    Thanks for your support!

About 4 months ago we had like 2-3 threads on Cuba fighters, amateur fighters, and this dvd alone lol. And yes it is worth buying. Its great for a true boxing fan. Its crazy how those little kids train.

Hey Francine. What did it take you to have the permission to stay in Cuba and film? You didn't have any problems with the government or anything?

In response to the question about filming in Cuba, it took a long time to arrange and couldn't have happened without the fantasticwork of Dania - our producer/fixer in Cuba. She managed to navigate all the government agencies who had to give permission for the film to happen. There should have been an official with the film crew at all times to check on what was being shot, but Dania managed to persuade them that it wasn't necessary and she would report in every week. Also, Andrew wasn't named as the director of the film - he was simply listed as an observer, which helped. We were a little bit worried about the reception that the film would get when it premiered at the Havana Film Festival last year, but I'm delighted so say that it went down fantastically well and even picked up a couple of awards! Screening the film in Cuba was quite emotional for Andrew - it was the first time that the crew, the boys, their families and the coaches got to see the finished version and they loved it!
