Cintron calls out Berto. Who wins at Welterweight?

If Cintron is there mentaly, he wins by KO.

That's like saying "If Zab Judah is there mentally..."

 

I think physically, especially as a welterweight, Cintron has everything you could ask for.

He's tall, hard hitting, good handspeed, reflexes, and if his fight against Paul Williams is any indication (before he inexplicably jumped out of the ring), his boxing skills are beggining to improve.

But I suppose you're right, because that's exactly what they say about Zab as well.

Anyway, if he comes in top form, he knocks Berto out. He's a nightmare matchup for Berto who is becoming a better defensive fighter, but not good enough where he can utilize his style of standing right in front of his opponent.

And I don't think he's strong enough to manhandle Cintron in the clinch.

 

Cintron wins on the outside, Berto beats his ass with uppercuts and hooks on the inside. Even though I think Berto is much faster, he has no defense and loads up on his power punches for too long. He could get away with that vs bums and a shot Quintana, but not with a world class fighter. Cintron doesn't do to well with aggressive fighters and was in serious trouble in the last rounds vs Angulo. He also doesn't do well with inside fighters and Berto even though he is shorter isn't a great inside fighter other than his uppercut. A focused Cintron probably wins by SD.

 

Berto would clinch and slip his way to a UD.

I like Berto , but by a closer decision than it should be decision , Berto does tend to get dragged in by these taller men , Collazo is a prime example of that , and its really Cintrons only chance of winning the fight , id love to see Berto knock Kermit TFO !!!! even though im not a great fan of either

 

cintron should take this. he is far more accomplished than berto, and actually managed to tame angulo, which looks better and better atm.

that being said cintron still has huge questions about his heart so if berto starts picking him apart, anything could happen.

 

I agree. Cintron could win this matchup impressively if he showed up fully focused. That's a big IF though. Besides that, I believe Berto is a KO waiting to happen.

I can't see it going 12 rounds either way.

 

Let's see how Berto's chin handles the punches of Hernandez before matching him with Cintron. :good

 

Good fight. Hope it gets made! Berto needs to fight someone like Cintron before thinking he deserves a fight w/ Pac.

I have a preference for the stand-up, boxer-puncher, style, so I really tried to like Cintron. Everytime I almost become a fan he does something crazy!
