Froch for a lot of people(i had AA)was supposed to lose tonight but won every round against a world class fighter.Joe was in the same position a few years back.I feel Carl`s show tonight was at least equal to what Joe did. This is not a thread having a go at Joe Calzaghe,Joe was great that night with Lacy. Its just that Froch wont get much publicity in the papers compared to what Joe got.
    What do other people think?

Why is there a need to compare the two?

Froch's achievements stand on their own two feet. He doesn't need to be compared to Calzaghe and vice versa.

For me AA is a slightly better fighter then Lacy. Both one dimensional bangers but i think AA's resume is better then Lacy's. With regards to the fight i think the way Joe dealt with Lacy was shocking. He was hyped up ridiculously and Joe dropped him which probs makes the display itself marginally better. AA's defence is harder to breach then Lacy's. It's all swings and roundabouts. Two fantastic displays from two fantastic fighters. **** the Haters...Froch is truely a great British Fighter.

I only put the thread up cos the 2 of them have been at each other for some time about it.I just wanted to know what other fans thought.I have nothing against either fighter.Calzaghe v Lacy was a great win for brit boxing as was tonight with Froch v AA.Froch will compare the 2 fights you can bet on that.

What a fight and what a perfect game plan and execution by Froch! Surely no-one can doubt his abilities or accomplishments now? I'm made up he got his belt back. Well deserved!!

A better win tonight as Abraham is a better fighter than Lacy ever was.

Calzaghe absolutely smashed Lacy, whilst Froch clinically dismantled Arthur. Difference being that Abraham is more dangerous and harder to breach.

Calzaghes was probably more aesthetically pleasing, it was a sometimes savage one-sided drubbing.

But Frochys win has more substance.

I think you can compare the fights, I texted my mate to say the same after the 3rd round.

Both great performances in fights they were widely tipped to lose. I only hope that Froch gets the credit aginst AA that Calzaghe never got for the Lacy fight.

Before the fight it was all about how Lacy was going to smash Calzaghe, after it was all about how lacy was always a bum anyway.

I lost a bit of respect for Arthur tonight if i be honest. The use of the elbow and the feigning injury then trying to get Froch deducted a point for blow behind head. (Yes illegal i know but AA was at it as well).

I think Froch broke his heart as early as the 4th round. I think AA knew he was in with a beast of a man and a good box/fighter.

Froch i believe could of went on to stop AA but held back to stick to plan which i respect but also believe he hurt hand in 3rd. Thew a uppercut (right hand) and then after it landed he sort of rotated it like he jarred it a little.

Brilliant Display, i think fact AA was more proven gives Froch the egde in terms of competition.

Froch has fought great competition at their peak not when they were past their best or before their best. Calzaghe's career was frustrating by comparison because objectively we really don't know how great, good or bad he really was and we will never know really.

Don't really see the need to compare which was best but agreed that they were similar.

Enough to say that both were dominating wins by Brits against dangerous opposition established at world level and the performances were the best of both fighters careers.

froch was a class act last night, absolutely superb, hopefully it will shut the haters up once and for all, even the hardcore haters have to give him credit now,he did a number on a worldclass(some thought P4P contender)boxer.
put a lot of pride back into english boxing.
needs to shut his mrs up though,if he ask me nicely,i will shut her up for a few mins:hey

as for comparing lacy,i think frochs win is better,AA is a better fighter than lacy, lacy was just a yank hypejob.
