I have no interest in Cotto-Clottey and my boy JLC needs to think about retirement.

I'd rather seen Cotto vs. Margarito and Clottey vs. Castillo, but this will do fine. Two decent fights that I'm sure tons of ****ing ******s on this board will whine about someone "ducking" or some bull****. This would be a really nice card.

Not superfights, but good ones. I'd be happy if Castillo was able to get another payday.

    Arum is a ****...

Why would he put JLC against Margarito....I mean no ofense to Castillo's fans he was great everbody knows that but he is shot now...

Why do they keep doing Margarito favors???

Why not Margarito vs Clottey 2....This time Clottey can fight without his hands being hurt and possibly win....Arum only cares about money and should handle Cotto's future bouts a little bit better now that he is so higly ranked..Why the fuk take a step back when he just won the biggest fight of his carrer....:-(

He wants Margarito to stay busy and not lose. Castillo would be a perfect tune up fight

Who the hell wants to see Margarito against Castillo? Castillo cant even barely compete at 140 and was shot there and he's gonna fight a way bigger fighter in Margarito? Margarito will most likely destroy him and get hyped more

    Great post, agree 1000%

I put this in the other thread, of a similar topic:

I'm not happy with Arum's plan at all, I felt Shane was a stepping stone to huge things, not a stepping stone to fighting borderline contenders.

I will accept him fighting De La Hoya, as he deserves a big payday. The fight doesn't do much for me, but you can't blame a guy for wanting financial comfort for the rest of his life.

But fighting Clottey, and that being a stepping stone to Margarito? :rofl :rofl :rofl

    Please.

I will accept fighting Clottey to get to PBF, but Margo?

He should be fighting Margo as a tuneup, not fighting a tuneup to fight another tuneup. It's a selfish move by Arum, and everyone can see through it.

If Cotto isn't gonna fight PBF in his next two fights, then how about either Margo or Clottey, then the victor of Williams/Cintron?

Just seems like he's taking steps back. If anything, Margo should be rematching Clottey, after that abortion of a performance he had against him the first time.

Thing is, Arum knows he has to give Margo an easy fight in order for him to look good enough, to rationalize him selling a Margo/Cotto scrap.

He can say that Margo has blasted his last two opponents, and is on the upswing. When any boxing fan knows he beat a no-hoper and a blown up/past it lightweight.

    Shady dealings.

If Cotto can't get a fight with PBF then I don't see a problem fight Clottey. Clottey is a big Welterweight and it will be a good fight with Cotto.

    First off, awesome avatar. :good

    Secondly, I agree totally.

This reminds me of Hatton/Urango and Castillo/Ngoudjo.

Either use Clottey as a tuneup to PBF or Williams, or use Margo as the tuneup to either.

I'm confident Cotto wins both tuneups, but not easily.

High risk, low reward fights to me.

Only one who is guaranteed to makeout is Arum.

There would really be nothing to gain for ether fighter for that match up ..

Clottey Vs Cotto would be great fight, but very dangerous for cotto I would have guessed they would have given him an easy fight after his bout with Shane .
