me too after seeing what Soto-Karass did coming back after copping a flogging in the 2nd round against Jones in the main undercard of the Pac/Marg fight.then again Mick wasnt firing back and you would rather a fight stopped a
punch too early than 1 punch too late.well done to Mick
    no shame losing to JMM.

Whatever the case he was copping a beat down and would have ended on the canvas.

    Good stoppage.

The punch that started it off probably ****ed up his breathing as it almost tore his neck from his shoulders

Katsidis needs to drop Smith. He was awful once again. No instruction, no insight how to go about winning each round, just a bunch of pep talk and bs. Have to wonder how much he could improve with a better trainer.

Great fight though and an awesome showing by both of them.

Marquez's combos were amazing. I too would have liked to see another few seconds play out before the stoppage, but no huge complaints here.

marquez was just too good, even when backed against the ropes he was landing the better punches, apart from round 3 which i think was kats only clear chance to take out marquez but couldnt do it

    ^Yes, Yes YES!!!

Katsidis put on a huge display of courage and my hat goes off to him. But during the fight me and my mate gave a WTF? look at each other when we heard his trainer say 'Just get through him'.

I thought Katsidis had himin the first KO :D . Everyone at the Workers Club was cheering :D

Hopefully a new trainer next time. Roach? Nazim? LOL

Not so sure mate. I reckon the gameplan was to stick to him and hopefully he'd tire in the later rounds. For a while there, it looked like Kat was setting the pace, but Marquez never really let Kat make his mark.

I wouldnt mind Smith staying in Katsidis's camp as a 2nd assistant as he is a great motivator & knows Michael so well, but really Katsidis needs more of a gameplan then just applying constant pressure.
I just think with better tactics Katsidis could have seen 12 rounds & perhaps made it even closer.
Hats off to Smith tho, as he always has Katsidis in magnificent condition & 110% fit.

Great fight while it lasted. Couldn't believe some of the shots both guys were taking!

IMO a good stoppage - JMM was just teeing off on him.

Kats did every aussie proud today, sterling effort.

not the greatest quality, but pump up the volume and u can hear the post fight interview. Kats is a proud man and fought like the true warrior he is. Hard not to shed a tear at the end when talking about his brother.

I've never been so proud as an Australian boxing fan since Troy Waters went toe to toe with Terrible Terry Norris back in 1993......... When Larry Merhant asked Mick about Stathi i had to walk out of the room at my mates place because my eyes were full of tears.

I'm still devastated and proud at the same time.....:happy:happy:happy
