He took a beating. His promoters should match him better & just worry about making exciting fights instead of trying to push him to be a top LW. It's just too much
Mike has an old school mentality in the ring, and doesn't care how his style matches to who he fights, rather he only wants the best, how true greats are in boxing. And I respect him for wanting to fight the best, and I think his management team does too. At least he is getting paid decent for his efforts in the ring.
I didn't like merchants questions the man fought his heart out only to be asked if his performance was his biggest disappoinment. Kats after the fight really made me feel bad and I will be a fan for life and make sure to watch all his fights.
Katsidis really gained my risspect. I hope he can bounce back soon. BTW i would have loved to see Katsidis vs Gatti at 135/140 would of been a war
Big ups to Katsidis for putting up a gutsy fight. I felt bad for him when Larry Merchant asked him about his brother afterward without offering any words of comfort. That was a real douche move on Merchant's part.
Kats was the interim LW Champ and was ranked number 1 I'm sure so who else would he of fought? I always give Kats props, hopefully people will look more at kats for Aus boxing than the other 2.
i always had respect for him and been a true fan i loved and hated watching that fight cause i knew one of them had to lose but much respect for katsidis i cant wait to see him in the ring again
Yea Merch could've been a bit more sympathetic. That was pretty gut wrenching for me, and we all know that was rough enough already for Mike.
Katsidis should be a fighter that is in the hearts of all boxing fans everywhere. A true blood and guts warrior inside the ring, and the peak of class outside of it. My heart bled for him last sat, and I wish there was a way his fans could contact him so he could know just how much his fans appreciate him. Great thread Griz, and forever war, Katsidis.
thanks man. And yea, that would be awesome to have a way for legitamately respectful fans to have a way DIRECTLY to a fighter, to let them know of our appreciation for performances (in the ring, and mentally) like what Mike did on Saturday. But there's too many trolls out there to have something like that unfortunately.
Dude is a warrior and deserves his respect and rest. You had to know Merchant was gonna bring up his Bro in the post-fight. I changed the channel when that happened.
