Divac the point is JMM turned down a 750,000.00 purse and accepted a much much lesser amount of P30,000.00 to fight in Indonesia. It really doesn't matter whether the John fight was immediately after the first pac fight or later. I guess he was offended by the offer in the Pac fight, but surprisingly was not in the John fight. The hard part was that, officially, he lost that fight against John. If he only accepted the pac fight, I would like to believe that he would have won that handidly having figured out the one dimensational Pac by then by virtue of their first fight.

Since you only joined this forum in 2008, I'll repeat myself what I've done many times in the past.....

The John fight had nothing to do with anything related to Pac or Morales, the John fight was well after........

......and the only reason Marquez took the John fight for 30K was because Arum who was Marquez' promoter refused to promote that fight because Marquez contract with Arum expired after one more fight (the John fight)

Had Arum promoted that John fight, it would have been staged in the US.......

When Marquez refused to negotiate a new contract with Arum, Arum refused to promote the Marquez-John fight........
The fight then went to purse bids where I believe Johns promoter won the purse bid by default, (there were no other bidders).....

Marquez then decided to go ahead with the fight even in Johns backyard, simply to have his contract with Bob Arum end.

Had Marquez not fought John, Arum would officially still have Marquez under contract, and if Marquez at that point had refused the fight with John and wanted to face someone else, Arum could intervene in that and force his way into that promotion and the money that came with it.........

Once again.....JMM fought Chris John in Indonesia to officially have his association with Bob Arum end.......

JMM fought John to rid himself of Bob "Convicted Felon" Arum!

Now having said this, as usual the ******* will refuse to acknowleadge this truth.

truth is the entire purse would have been under 500,000 for each fighter.

Thanks for the info Divac! I was never too clear on that whole situation but it seemed like there had to be more to it than what was portrayed in the media.

This is news to me. But would it not have been better if he just accepted the P750,000.00 purse in the Pac fight and still end his contract with the "convicted felon" as you said? In accepting the Pac fight he would have killed two birds in one stone.

it beats me, he was around but i guess he was not on the radar like that because of the other mexicans in the game at that weight.they all around the same age, but most of them beat the **** out of each other that even in marquez wars he still have more left his tank i think.
