I'm sorry to say that I really don't think that fight is a good idea for Casey, unless it's somehow hyped into a huge payday. Rigondeaux will box the ears off him. I know he has the European belt but really he was lucky to get the shot and to get it against a fighter who really isn't championship level in Hyland. Essentially he's a young prospect who has 11 fights and has never been beyond 8 rounds. The next guy he's scheduled to fight has a losing record. I know that Rigondeaux himself has even fewer fights, but he has the gold standard of amateur records. And Rigondeaux isn't even the WBA champion anyway, so it's not like he's actually getting a shot even at an alphabet belt. Just the opportunity to chase the Cuban around the ring haplessly while getting picked off over and over again. The lad needs a minimum of six more fights against pretty decent opposition before he should even think about getting into the ring with one of the top 5 in the world at the weight. He's exciting and all but he has an awful lot to learn. Really it should be more than 6 fights. It's sort of bizarre that Rigondeaux is supposedly even thinking about fighting him, but if it's true it will be because he thinks of it as an easy tune up. And basically he'd be right at this point in Casey's career.

willie casey has a big article in the mirror today, this fight is lookin like its defo on, and i for one cant wait, millstreet the venue it seems. Im just thinking, if it comes off, the 2 guys must be 2 of the most inexperienced pros ever to fight for a "world" title. I kno rigo has tonnes of amateur experience, but is 7--0 as a pro, its crazy lol
