I feel ya', but I mean the dude has had more than one fight, if you look at his entire body of work he obviously possess some raw ability that could cause anyone problems. I don't think he'd beat Pac, but I think he'd be a more "live" underdog than Margarito, Clottey, JMM, SSM, Hatton, and to be honest even the ODLH that Pac faced. Don't hear what I'm not saying, I don't think Berto is better than these guys in terms of career accomplishments or skills/ability, but as it stands right this second he's the biggest threat because he is younger, faster, equally as strong as some/stronger than others, and possess a legitmate threat. Great fighters like Pac or PBF or any of the other elite fighters around the world, tend to make careers off beating guys like Berto. That being said, I'm sure many would have said the same thing prior to JT and BHop I or II. Which is what makes it an interesting fight to me, beyond that IF any of these fighters were to upset Pac, Berto is the only one who has enough "road" in front of him to do anything with it. The rest are at the end of their careers and don't really have anywhere else to go, even with what would be a huge feather in their cap...No Homo (not really a homo statement but "huge feather in their cap" sounds as if it could possibly be Homo, so just in case).
Not ready? It's not like he's a 20 year old fighter without an amateur background. He's as ready as he'll ever be. Personally, I would love for this fight to happen. Berto's speed and power would present lots of problems for Pac. IMO, it's a much more interesting fight than JMM and especially Mosley. I'm noit at all interested in Pac - Martinez. That's a huge mismatch and I'm tired of freak shows.
Probably not yet, but ok I'd like to see knockout from pac. I predict a counter left hook about middle round, then lights out.
Berto's handspeed and physical strength will present problems for Manny but his chin has not been tested and he's still far too hittable. Handspeed element makes it an interesting fight on paper but...:-(.
Why not? I don't think Berto is going to be getting any better now. He's about as ready as he will ever be, and he is about the best opponent for Pacquiao at this stage. (not including Mayweather, obviously)
No but Cotto, Clottey and Margarito were not ready either. At this point in Breto's career he as as good if not better than any of them when they fought Pacquiao. He is also better at this point than De La Hoya and Hatton were when they fought Pacquiao.
