Would have he stuck with Jorge Rubio Or was he always going to be under Roachs tutelage at some point

He would have came unstuck at some point, his chin was weak and he clearly wasnt rehydrating properly after weigh -ins.

If he beat Prescott, he would have remained with Rubio, and eventually would have been knocked out by somebody else. Pre-Roach, Khan's development as a professional was poor. He would not be the fighter is today, had that knockout not have happened.

Getting knocked out by Prescott was the best thing that ever happened to Khan. He took the loss on the chin and he's come back well, I'll respect any fighter who can do that, although I'm not a fan of Amir at all.

He had to get knocked out to make the change. This KO was good for him, he was able to change now when he's new and rising rather than later when it's too late.

Khan was too weight drained at 135, he was going to get KO'd at that weight anyways...

If he beats Prescott, then he gets KO'd hardcore by the next big puncher they match him up with and he leaves his trainer then.

He did get beat by Prescott though. And boy did he get beat bad. The full less than a minute fight will be on every Khan highlight reel ever.
