People seem to be looking at all of Khan's attributes and under-rating Maidana.

Having just watched Maidana's fight versus Corley I can say that had Khan been hit by some of those shots in the early rounds, he would not have held up.

Maidana is relentless and has dynamite with his spasm-like right hooks.

In various polls and other threads, Khan's most ardent supporters admit that if Maidana connects clean then he's got a good chance of dropping Khan. Does anyone really believe that in 12 rounds, with Maidana throwing maybe 1,000 punches that not a SINGLE punch will connect clean? <- Follow that through to its logical conclusion given all the "chin" talk.

Maidana is going to tag Khan for sure and it'll be in the early rounds when he is most energetic. He will drag Khan into a close-up fight and will go for war; Maidana doesn't care about getting hit - he'll eat 2 to give 1.

    - Maidana is durable // the guy doesn't wear down. He gets straight back up.
    - Maidana isn't slow- yes he plods, but that right-hook is fast and dangerous
    - Maidana is dirty - just watch the corley fight - he'll take khan into a dirty close-up fight

If Khan survives 12 rounds with Maidana, I'll be amazed. :bart

have u seen the Abraham vs Froch fight,

Abraham did not land once clean on the chin of Froch.

Abraham even admitted it "i tried to hit him i could not".

He really has got EVERYTHING to lose in this fight.

Maidana has quite fast hands himself.

Mate, did you see how many punches Abraham even threw?

    Completely different style match-up.

This will be the most intelligent performance from Khan, simply because it has to be. I expect Maidana to land some but just no flush enough to cause any knock downs.

Maidana looked horrendous against Corley. His footwork was down right terrible and if he shows up like that against Khan, Khan will beat him easily.

I can see Khan covering up with a high-guard and Maidana just punching through it with uppercuts and bodyshots.

Perhaps Khan will try and run like Mitchell did against Prescott but even then, Mitchell still got hit on the whiskers.

If Khan's chin is half as bad as people say it is, he won't survive this fight; Maidana will cut off that ring.

Opportunities to hit Khan are there, Khan has a ton of skills combined with hand speed, he should win this fight if his chin holds up but who knows. If you're going to pick a guy at 140 with the power to KO Khan it's Maidana, gotta respect him for taking on a guy who is prime and a guy who has the ability to expose Khan's biggest question mark at the moment which is his chin.

Maidana's workrate against Kotelnik was good because he was landing albeit not on target, its a different story when your hitting nothing but thin air for the first half of the fight.

Go back to the Ortiz fight and watch the the Ortiz knockdown, that idiot comes right in for Maidana's right, if he only had some sense he would have ducked under it and come up with a sweet left hook, I assure you Maidana would not have been mentioned again had that happened.

Yep- I just watched it. Couldn't believe how dirty and erratic Maidana was.

But alas that's why I think he'll win- he's one of those unpredictable fighters who is unconventional. Khan is not fighting a boxer, he's fighting a brawler and I don't think he'll be able to deal with it. Maidana will catch Khan and take him out.

It won't be clinical, but it will be nasty. :tired

I can see something like at 9:53 happening.

Khan has to win every round, or he'll lose the fight. His upper body movement isn't too flexible. He's a great outside fighter, but he stands straight up. It benefits his height advantage but there is a lack of movement there Maidana can capitalize on. He has improved vastly under Roach, I like him and his style, but Maidana has been working on cutting off the ring and isn't a slow puncher. I can see Khan impressing us all, but the risks are there.

@Bogotazo - the fight will play out just like Gomez except that Maidana has power.

    Maidana KO within 3
If the fight goes past 3 rounds, Khan's chin isn't as bad as people say it is and he wins it.

The last time Maidana was this much of an underdog was before he fought Ortiz.

It will be an exciting fight and an excellent match-up. I would love to have seen if Khan got dropped in sparring. Based on a tweet from Rashad Holloway, he said Khan sparring was sharp and looking good.
