Why is cotto super champ?

    I've just noticed the WBA have elevated Cotto to super champ? this is probably old news but its new to me. WTF? Cotto hasnt won another title at 154! i always thougth the whole super champ/ regular champ thing was a disgrace but at least you had to earn it. what's the story now they can just decide to elevate? the most embarrassing part is that the current regular champ Rigoberto Alvarez is ranked #28 on Boxing Rec. #28!!! he's not even on the first page of 154 fighters. no wonder belts are becoming irrelevant! With junk like this and Manny's catchweight specials what is there for a young fighter to aspire too? PPV numbers?

    Cause you're basing it on Boxrec. Its only good for looking at fighters records, that's it.

    Cotto is a great champion but callin him Super-man might be too much, Super-Champion sounds about right.

    they should make a Tyson belt and let featherweight, lightweight and weltherweight boxers fight Mike Tyson of today and see what happen

    he's not a super champ. just the champ. they also have an interim champion Rigoberto Alvarez. So the real question is why do they have an interim champion?
