Not a big surprise here in America but the Aussies seemed to have bigger opinion of Mundine than us.I understood he was basically a twat and over rated cherry picker.
Mundine's fault for turning over. I don't think that should've been considered a ko but still, "Protect yourself at all times".
Maybe Garth Wood is the next Grady Brewer: A journeyman who somehow manages to shock the **** out of us once in awhile.
I'm sorry Mundine fans but I was pissing my pants laughing when I saw it happening. Mr. Anthony "I want Pacquiao and Mayweather next" Mundine..
It was a bit behind the temple but I wonder what are you going to do in this situation stop your punch at the last moment???
I have the fight and watched the KO a dozen times now and saw the KO from three different angles. It was a solid left hook to the jaw that crumpled him. The right to the temple was only one a many that both guys absorbed, lots of punches to the back of the head by both too.
Of course you should stop, just like when your opponent slips (Dirrell-Abraham) or his knees touch the canvas (Pacquiao-Marquez I). I believe it was unintentional and Mundine turned into it, but it doesn't change the fact that an illegal blow did the damage. I'm not saying anything bad about Wood or Green, **** happens in the heat of the fight, but the ref sould've noticed the unintentional foul and given Roy and Mundine 5 mins of rest. If you push your opponent down therefore his body shot hits you flush on your balls you shouldn't be counted out when you go down, because the punch went unintentionally illegal.
I don't know if I recall correctly, but I think Haye cracks Mormeck behind the head just before the fight ending KO in that fight. Mormeck turns to the ref to complain and then Haye jumps on him and KOs him.
Vicious right hand puts Mundine asleep on his feet....... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix9m0tHDQiU[/ame] Not a good vid. But enough and all I could find.
