Don't remember that situation but I certainly remember Haye landing hard rabbit punches on John Ruiz, and at least one illegal knockdown was counted. Compete disgrace.
Mundine was open for the hook all night. If Wood were better skilled he would have been able to close the distance a lil better, time Mundine, and stop him earlier than he did.
From what I saw it looked like Mundine bent into the punch nothing seemed illegal from what I saw. I didn't expect this Woods guy to ko Mundine, actually I didn't even know about this fight until a day or two ago, but when you continue to fight no-hopers while your skills decline while dropping weight at his age then he was an upset waiting to happen. Mundine seemed like a good fighter several years ago but has spent his career lately doing an Austrailian bum of the month thing. Too bad he never tried harder to get fights with top guys while he was at his peak. Maybe now we won't hear how he is going to fight a top fighter while he and everyone else knows it isn't happening.
:deal He hit him with a right around the back of the head/temple, the threw a left hook whilst Mundine was bending down... BOOM! and Australia cheers as one
ninemsn has a good vid, you can clearly see that wood hits him in the back of the head before the left hook. Not saying it would have mad a difference because mundine has a china chin. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8178946 Thats what happens when you cherry pick tomato cans, sometimes they fight back. Next for mundine; a rematch with danny green. next for woods; a long couple of disappointing years.
Why is there more threads about Mundine's knockout? He is a bum fighting a bum, and I live in Australia where the best boxer right now is probably a kangaroo. BTW, remember Billy Dibs? He fought as an undercard and won by KO, of course against a bum as well.
