Brother, Magoo...It's a hall of "fame" not a hall of "awesometastic boxers with the best skill and achievements". That's why fighters like Gatti will get in and the unfair but infirm Joe Cortez is going HOF and why there are a bunch of non-fighters like Stallone who can get in. ...Let's just hope Danny Bonaduce does NOT make it into any category. If you think about it too critically, it will only drive you crazy.

I think 6 Rocky films contributed to and was a big part of the promotion of boxing. I dont have a problem with it.

I suppose when we consider that boxing pesonalities of all sorts including, sports writers, announcers, referees and other figures get unducted, then perhaps Stallone has a case too... Still not my first choice for an inductee though.

Me neither. ...I would go with Anna Mofotsky for that non-participant category first.

I never thought tht much of the fourth and fifth ones. The last one was surprisingly good.

I think that at it can stand.

Comentators and historians who have never boxed get inducted, so why not an actor who created a boxing cultural icon?

    Isn't that painter in ,Neiman?
Makes me laugh, people worry about Barry McGuigan being in there ,and yet Stallone gets in
The whole thing is debased to meaningless hype now. What was a tribute to brave warriors ,with excellent skills, and iron wills, is now a fan based bull**** led, open door.

The movie Rocky was one of the three things which revived the popularity of boxing in the United States, after Ali's return from exile, and along with the shockingly unexpected success of the 1976 US Olympic Boxing Squad. In the nonparticipant category, a case can be made that Stallone's induction is long overdue. (Personally, I would have preferred for his induction to be the featured attraction in Canastota during a year with a weak class of lesser names.)

Stallone has been a friend to boxing for decades, and in my mind, a far more appropriate inductee than LeRoy Neiman. His films created fans of boxing. It's entirely possible that there are already fighters enshrined who were originally inspired to take up the sport because of those films.

Stallone is okay. I don't see what the problem is.
Of course, there's a good argument to say their shouldn't be any "non-participant" categories, but since there is, and other writers are already in, then I don't see why not Stallone.
