I saw Espn first take on Mike Tyson Hall of Fame induction. Lets just say these guys in the words of Floyd "knows very little about boxing". Basically, saying Tyson didn't beat any great fighters which is absurd. Most of us will agree Tyson had a short prime, Prime to short and Wise to late", but what he did for the sport was more than HUGE. Here's the vid : http://search.espn.go.com/first-take/

Gotta look at how untouchable he was prime and how big a character he was. how much he gave to the sport. On the other hand you have to look at what he took away from the sport with the negative attention and bad reputation he gained. Overall IMHO he should go straight in.

I remeber seeing ESPN's list of the top 50 greatest fighters of all time.

It was the most appaling piece of **** list I've ever seen. Even some of the worst trolls on this site have compiled a better one.

    ESPN are shite.

How do you just **** on Razor Ruddock? Also, there were great boxers that didn't have a chance to really make an impact because Tyson was so damn dominant...

Even the Ken Norton comment was pretty damn ignorant... Not only did he beat Ali's ass once, but he also fought him in a very close match (and lost) and fought him a third time in a match that EVERYONE who saw it thought he won. He fought Holmes to a VERY close split decision, he ****ing beat Quarry... I am not saying Norton is the best of all time, but give the guy some credit, he fought in a very competitive Heavy Weight division and didn't do too poorly...

WTF! Berbick was washed up? He's a ****in Idiot. Micheals Spinks was the ****in heavyweight champion of the world when Tyson beat him. What about all the champions current and former ones he beat like Thomas, Tucker, Tubbs, and Bonecrusher. Even Biggs was an undefeated fighter with great amateur credentials when Tyson beat him. All 3 guys are ****in morons, who shouldn't even have a job saying the dumb **** there talking. Than after watching that, you'll have young ones from this generation believing that bull****.

And Ken Norton beat a over the hill Ali, his dumbass don't even realize that.

    ESPN just lost all credibility.
Saying Tyson doesnt deserve it is like for me as saying Rocky Marciano doesnt deserve it.

Both had short Primes and both ruled with deadly ability. But we remember them and what they did in the sport.

Tyson should most definitely go in. His top ten ATG standing, and indeed if he should be in that top ten, has been a very popular subject of debate for many years but the HOF isn't purely about that anyway.

Lock, in my opinion. Could certainly do with an eighties Tyson around these days.

This just goes to show you guys how unpopular boxing is in the USA. These guys dont follow the sport, they are shade tree announcers who give their opinion without any real knowledge.

    I am not surprised.

Tyson sealed his legacy by the time he lost to douglas and is entitled to the hall of fame from his popularity alone, if it wasnt for him many fighters we see today probbly wouldnt have laced em up.
